Abstract:

A series of Li2Eu4(MoO4)(7) : Bi3+ red phosphors were prepared by a sol-gel method. The crystal structures, photoluminescence properties, energy transfer, decay lifetimes and thermal quenching properties were also explored. Li2Eu4(MoO4)(7) : Bi3+ phosphors could be excited under 395 nm near UV and 465 nm blue light and exhibit bright red emission located at 615 nm. The luminescence intensity may be improved because of energy transfer from Bi3+ to Eu3+ ions. Li2Bi0.24Eu3.76(MoO4)(7) phosphor exhibits good thermal stability, short lifetime and excellent CIE coordinates which could be a promising candidate for red phosphors for WLEDs.
