Abstract:

Dy3+/Tb3+ co-doped scheelite-type Li2Y4(MoO4)(7) (LYM) based phosphors, which exhibit both emissions of Dy3+ and Tb3+ ions, have been fabricated via the solid state method. The phase purity, characteristics of luminescence, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra, energy transfer mechanism as well as decay lifetimes were also investigated. The resultant samples represent color tunable emission caused by the energy transfer from Dy3+ to Tb3+ ions, which verified that the LYM:Dy,Tb phosphors could be regarded as promising materials for optical display system.
