Abstract:
Chlorine dioxide has been widely used as an internationally recognized safe and non-toxic green disinfectant. Chlorine dioxide has been listed as an A1 disinfectant by the United Nations Health Organization (WHO). Its strong oxidation can achieve sterilization, disinfection, preservation and other effects and is widely used. Compared with liquid chlorine dioxide, solid chlorine dioxide preparations have the advantages of high stability, easy to transport and so on, and have a wider application range. In this paper, the research status of solid chlorine dioxide in recent years is summarized into reaction type and adsorption type. Most solid preparations also have disadvantages such as difficulty in controlling the release rate and insufficient release time. Among them, the gel-type sustained-release agent can improve these shortcomings and provide a reference for the future development of chlorine dioxide solid preparations. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
