对外宣传和交往注意译文词语更新,是从语用角度考虑,实现译文预期功能的必要手段.翻译使用过时语言,对沟通形成阻碍,不利交往顺利进行.因此,汉译英要注意更新译语表达,使之具有时代气息,更易为译语读者接受.更新表现在紧跟时代发展,使用地道英语,翻译新事物、新词汇、新说法.更新还表现在关注国外语言使用动态,顺应语言使用潮流,用高频英语词汇替代旧译.
