Abstract:
Fe (III)-modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fiber complex was prepared with poly acrylic acid grafted PTFE fiber and FeCl3 aqueous solution and used a novel heterogeneous Fenton catalyst for the photo-assisted degradation of Rhodamine B in water. The results indicated that Fe (III)-grafted PTFE) fiber complex can significantly enhance the dye degradation at a wide pH media under light irradiation. Increasing Fe content of the catalyst, H2O2 concentration and visible irradiation intensity leads to a fast degradation. Moreover, UV light irradiation is much more effective than visible light irradiation for promoting dye degradation. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
