Abstract:

This paper firstly created an evaluation index system of coastline resource, and then, in light of optimal allocation of resource, proposed an evaluation index system of intensive coastline utilization. Moreover, in the context of remote sensing images (SPOT) analysis and field survey, two multi-factor evaluation models, coastline resource evaluation model and intensive coastline utilization evaluation model, were established based on Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess the coastline utilization of Tianjin center harbor. The results show that: 1) the coastline-occupation grade of the harbor could be classified as a second-class coastline with an evaluated value of 3.004; and 2) the intensive coastline utilization of the harbor reached a comprehensive value of 32.14, of which the indicator of coastline utilization status scored a relatively high value of 15.53, accounting for 48.34%, and the indicator of output-to-input ratio hit a lowest of 5.65, with a proportion of 17.57%. It suggests that the low intensity of land development was mainly responsible for the unfavorable intensive coastline utilization of Tianjin center harbor. © 2016 IEEE.
