Abstract:

Nano-TiO2 (Anatase) was prepared by the improved sol-gel method and characterized by diffuse reflection spectrum (DRS) and photoluminescence (PL). The results show that optical band gap of the nano-TiO2 is found at 384 nm and ultraviolet light is strongly absorbed by the nano-TiO2 in the range of 250-400 nm. Several intensive luminescence bands were found at 420, 461, 485, 530, 573 and 609 nm, owing to free excitons, bound excitons, defects and interfacial states of the nano-TiO2.
