Abstract:

The best formation process of black colored CuFeMnO4 spinel powders, which were synthesized by EDTA complexing Sol-Gel method, was investigated. Furthermore, the solar absorptivity of CuFeMnO4 spinel powders was examined by the UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The results revealed that the CuFeMnO4 spinel powders were successfully synthesized without the CuO, Fe2O3 and the MnO extraneous phase under circumstances that the temperature was about 25C(ambient temperature), the metal ion ratio was Mn2+:Cu2+:Fe3+=3:2:1 and the pH value of the solution was about 6.5. After annealed at 800C, the powders could absorb the light within the wavelength range of 200-2500 nm efficiently and the absorptivity can reach up to 95%. It showed that CuFeMnO4 spinel powders could be used as potential material for solar absorbers in solar collector systems.
