Abstract:

The best formation process of black colored CuFeMnO4 spinel powders, which were synthesized by EDTA complexing Sol-Gel method, was investigated. Furthermore, the solar absorptivity of CuFeMnO4 spinel powders was examined by the UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer. The results revealed that the CuFeMnO4 spinel powders were successfully synthesized without the CuO, Fe2O3 and the MnO extraneous phase under circumstances that the temperature was about 25°C(ambient temperature), the metal ion ratio was Mn2+:Cu2+:Fe3+=3:2:1 and the pH value of the solution was about 6.5. After annealed at 800°C, the powders could absorb the light within the wavelength range of 200-2500 nm efficiently and the absorptivity can reach up to 95%. It showed that CuFeMnO4 spinel powders could be used as potential material for solar absorbers in solar collector systems.
