Abstract:
On the Basis of the age-adjusted effective modulus method, a formula is deduced for calculating the creep coefficient of axially-compressed concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members. By comparison between the test results and theoretical calculation for axially compressive CFST members, it is shown that the ACI 209R mode is more rational out of the three typical concrete creep coefficient modes, CEB-FIP 78, CEB-FIP 90 and ACI 209R, in creep analysis of CFST members. The ACI 209R mode is used in analysis of creep effect of a long span deck type CFST railway arch bridge with a span of 380 m and the results are compared with calculation by CEB-FIP 78. The conclusions provide references for creep analysis of other CFST arch bridges.
