Abstract:
The Ce3+ions-doped Y2SiO5 (Y2SiO5:Ce3+) phosphors were synthesized by a hydrothermal-solid reaction combined method with mesoporous MCM-48 as silica source. The Y2SiO5:Ce3+ powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results show that the phosphors calcined at 1200°C have low-temperature X1-Y2SiO5 and high-temperature X2-Y2SiO5 phase forming, while the phosphors calcined at 1300°C present single-phase X2-Y2SiO5. With the increase of the calcination temperature, the peak intensities in excitation and emission spectra are enhanced and the red shift of emission peak is obviously observed. Four Gaussian peaks fit to the emission spectra are attributed to the 5d→4f (2F5/2 and 2F7/2) transitions of Ce3+ in two different sites (B1 and B2) in Y2SiO5 matrix.
