Abstract:

La doped BaTiO3 (LBT) material was prepared by sol-gel method. The effect of La-doping content on the electrical performance of BaTiO3 material was studied by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and conductivity. The results show that the single-phase perovskite structure of LaxBa1-xTiO3 (x=0-0.4) powder can be obtained after calcined at 900. The conductivity of BaTiO3 Improved obviously by La-doping. When x=0.2, the La0.2Ba0.8TiO3 (LBT20) material exhibits excellent chemical compatibility with Gd doped ceria Ce0.8Gd0.2O1.9 electyolyte material, and LBT20 shows the highest conductivity, up to approximately 0.15 S/cm at 800 under the reducing atmosphere, which is four times higher than that of BT tested under the same condition. These results indicate that the LBT20 can be considered as potential anode materials for IT-SOFC operating on hydrocarbon fuels directly, but its conductivity needs to be further improved. ©, 2015, Rengong Jingti Xuebao/Journal of Synthetic Crystals.
