Abstract:

This paper proposes a unified approach to parameter design, aimed at achieving load-independent constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) outputs under zero phase angle (ZPA) conditions which can be used in most topologies. A systematic set of parameter design techniques has been developed to facilitate this goal. This approach offers high design flexibility, thereby allowing extensive adjustability across various system components. This approach has the advantage of producing multiple viable solutions for a given set of parameters, distinguishing it from other methods. To verify the theoretical analysis, a 500W LCC-S compensated wireless power transfer (WPT) system for battery charging applications was designed and manufactured. The system operates at two different frequencies enabling both CC output with ZPA and CV output with ZPA. Details of the hardware design and laboratory prototype are presented, complemented by experimental results.  © 2024 IEEE.
