Abstract:
City network has become an important model of regional spatial organization. Optimizing the regional spatial structure is of great significance for promoting the high-quality development of the city. Taking 9 cities in Fujian province as the research object, a city comprehensive connection network is constructed based on service flow, information flow, logistics and knowledge flow. By applying social network analysis and other methods, this study analyzes the spatial pattern and structural characteristics evolution of the city comprehensive connection network in Fujian province in 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2019. It shows that the city comprehensive connection network in Fujian province has basically formed an organizational model of "Fuzhou-Xiamen as the dual-core, the other along the coastal area", and the spatial pattern of "dense in southwestern Fujian, sparse in northeastern Fujian, and weak in sea-land connection" remains without significant change, the imbalance is obvious, but the polarization characteristics have been eased. Moreover from the perspective of the spatial development strategic pattern of "two poles, two belts and three axes" in the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan of Fujian province, it is found that the polarization characteristics of the Fuzhou metropolitan area is more obvious, and the Xiamen-Zhangzhou-Quanzhou metropolitan area is more balanced; the core of coastal development belt has strong but unbalanced connections, and the strength of the mountain green development belt is growing rapidly but relatively weak; The connection strength of the southern development axis, the northern development axis, and the central development axis decreases successively. Finally, based on the above results, we put forward a prospect for the evolution of the characteristics of the integrated city connection network in Fujian province during the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan period. © 2023 Zhejiang University Press.
