Abstract:
Resonant Partially reflective surface (PRS) antennas have limited high-gain performance. This paper investigates and develops non-resonant PRS antennas loaded with a phase-correcting surface (PCS) and fed by a large inter-element spacing feed array. The PCS is used to provide the required compensation phases so that the waves above the PCS are in-phase and the main radiation beam can form. Hence, the high gain bandwidth can be obtained. Our simulation and analysis show that the gain performance improves with the increase of the element spacing of the feed array. © 2022 IEEE.
