Abstract:
Because of its reliability and flexibility, wireless power transfer (WPT) has become a hit in recent years. In some typical applications of WPT, such as electric vehicles, the current mainstream charging power level cannot meet user's charging needs. Thus, it is necessary to develop high-power wireless charging technology. Modularization is considered as a possible solution to realize high-power WPT. The structure of coupled coils and the modular design of magnetic couples are closely related to the performance of a modular WPT system. When the mainstream planar coils are applied to the modular WPT system, the coupling coefficient of the system is not ideal. In order to solve this problem, two modular WPT arrangements with flat solenoid coils are proposed in this paper. The factors affecting the transferred power of a modular WPT system are analyzed. The electromagnetic modeling and simulation of the proposed modular arrangements are carried out, and the feasibility of the proposed arrangements is verified. © 2022 IEEE.
