Abstract:
Starting from the theory of antenna arrays, this paper proposes a new method to suppress the grating lobes of a sparse array. By loading a metasurface lens with subwavelength periodic configuration and the control of the transmission phases, a new sparse array configuration is constructed for low-cost high-gain applications. Simulations are carried out to validate the proposed principle of eliminating grating lobes. In addition, the enhancement of radiation performance of the new sparse array configuration is also investigated. © 2021 IEEE.
