Abstract:
In order to solve the defect that the resistance value of the superconducting quench state cannot be adjusted when a fault occurs. This paper proposes a hybrid superconducting current limiter (H-SFCL) with the bridge circuit topology based on resistance superconducting current limiter (SFCL) and insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT) control current limiting resistors. The influence of the access to the hybrid superconducting current limiter on the fault characteristics of the DC distribution system is analyzed. Then the improved Hausdorff distance protection scheme is proposed. Compared with the original protection principle, it not only has absolute selectivity in the presence of large transition resistance, but also has high sensitivity. The proposed protection scheme is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink software. And the simulation results show that the protection improvement scheme of DC distribution system with hybrid superconducting current limiter can quickly and accurately remove the line fault. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
