Abstract:
Three beams subjected to long-term loading and chloride attacks, with various recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement ratios of 0%, 50% and 100% respectively, were designed to investigate the effects of the RCA replacement ratio on the flexural behavior and durability properties. The results show that a higher RCA replacement ratio has a notable influence on the long-term performance of beams, leading to more chloride ion ingress, more severe steel corrosion and cracking damage, and lower flexural capacity. The maximum chloride content and steel corrosion are observed near the loading points because of the complicated stress fields induced by bending and shear in these regions. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
