20世纪90年代后期，因特网财务报告的研究在国外更多地集中于可扩展企业报告语言(The eXtensible Business ReportingLanguage，简称XBRL)。近来，这种基于因特网的新型财务报告标准语言的研究在国外取得系列重要成果，成为网上报告研究的新亮点。
