Abstract:

A series of red phosphors YVO4:Eu3+, Al3+ were synthesized by solid state reaction. The crystal structure and image of samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The spectra properties of the obtained phosphors were also characterized by fluorescent spectrum (FL). The effects of Al3+-doping on crystallization and luminescent properties of YVO4:Eu3+ phosphors were investigated. The results showed that the emission intensity of Y0.945VO4: Eu0.043+Al0.0153+ was 2.5 times higher than those without doping Al3+, when the concentration of Eu3+ was 4%, Al3+ was 1.5% and the sample was annealed at 1100°C for 8 h. The excitation and emission spectra indicated that the phosphors YVO4:Eu3+, Al3+ could be efficiently excited by 395 nm, which were suitable with the emission of near UV LED.
