Abstract:

Support castings are important load-bearing parts,which require higher load-bearing capacity. A354 aluminumalloy is used for the castings, and T6 heat treatment is conducted for them. In this paper, the casting simulation software ofMAGMAsoft was used to simulate the filling and solidification processes of the squeeze casting support parts. According to the temperature drop and shrinkage of the support parts during thesqueeze casting process, the technical parameters for making high strength high toughness support castings were obtained tomeet the production requirements. Then the actual production verification of the process parameters was carried out. © 2018, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. All right reserved.
