Abstract:
Water hyacinth is an invasive weed because of its high reproductive capacity, adaptability, nutritional requirements and resistance to adverse environments. It is impossible to eradicate and difficult to control. Since water hyacinth is mainly composed of lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose and water (around 90%).This paper introduced the current researches and perspectives of the utilization of water hyacinth. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
