Abstract:

A new system of sodium fast ion conductors of Na1+x Zr2-yV0.8ySixP3-xO12 system has been prepared by high temperature (1273-1373 K) solid state reaction for about 20 h. A pure single Nasicon phase with C2C structure was found in the composition range of y=0.5. Besides Nasicon phase, an unknown phase was observed. At still higher values of y, a glass state phase can be found. The results of electrical measurements indicates that the best conductivity in the V-Nasicon system is 6.88 ×10-2 S/cm at 673 °K for initial composition y=0.1, x=1.5, its activation energy is 27.96 kJ/mol in higher temperature.
