Abstract:

Six stub columns subjected to axial compression are carried out. An attempt is made to know difference of results by different design codes including DL/T5085-1999(1999), GJB4142-2000(2001), AIJ (1997), EC4( 1994), LRFD(1999) and 685400(1979). The research shows that self-compaction concrete filled steel tubes have good bearing capacity. All results are somewhat conserved, but the results of codes DL/15085-1999(1999), GJB4142-2000(2001), BS5400(1979) and Fujian local standard are in good agreement with those of the test. They are suitable to be adopted to design and calculate the bearing capacity of self-compaction concrete-filled steel tube stub columns.
