Abstract:
Experiment on two circular and two square steel tube confined high-performance concrete members subjected to pure bending were carried out. The variation of steel strains along the section depth was analyzed and the plane section hypothesis was verified. The deflection curves of steel tube confined high-performance concrete subjected to pure bending were demonstrated. Numerical method for analysis of concrete filled steel tubes under bending was presented, comparisons of the load-deformation curves given by this analysis and experimental results indicate good agreement. The initial flexure stiffness and the service-level flexure stiffness of the specimens were compared to the that of current design codes, The applicability of different code in calculating flexure abilities of steel tube confined high-performance concrete were discussed.
