Abstract:
The steel and concrete hybrid structures are widely applied in high-rise or super high-rise buildings in China due to their superior lateral resistant capacity, fast construction and lower cost. Connections between steel beams and concrete walls are the key to ensure that the concrete core and the exterior steel frames work together. This paper provides a review of advances in seismic behavior of connections between steel beams and concrete walls and in the development of design rules. It is found that the research on seismic behavior of connections between steel beams and concrete walls is inadequate and the design methods prescribed in different specifications varied greatly. The further study needs to be conducted on the seismic behavior of the connections between steel beam and concrete wall need further study.
