Abstract:
The effects of aging treatment at 650-950°C for 6 h on microstructure, mechanical property and corrosion resistance of solusion-treated 2906 super duplex stainless steel were studied by means of optical microscope(OM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and electrochemical property test. The results indicate that no σ phase is observed and the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance are not significant changed for the steel aged at 650°C for 6 h. When aging at 750°C, the σ phase content reaches the maximum, which results in a significant decline in tensile strength and corrosion resistance, but the hardness increases. As the aging temperature further increased to 850°C and 950°C, the amount of σ phase is gradually reduced, and corrosion resistance is slightly recovered compared with that of the steel aged at 750°C.
