Abstract:
Concrete-filled FRP-PVC tubes are made up of PVC tubes convolved with FRP and filled with concrete, which are characterized by construction conveniently and strong corrosion resistance. Seven concrete-filled FRP-PVC stub columns subjected to axial compressive load were tested and analyzed in this paper. The parameters, the FRP layer and the strength of concrete were discussed in details. The testing results showed that the destruction of FRP strip and the crush of concrete mark the break of the specimens. The FRP convolved outside of PVC tubes can improve the yielding strength, the strengthen modulus, ultimate compressive strength and limit strain. In addition, the more the FRP layer, the more the improvements are. With the increase of the strength of concrete, the yield strength and the ultimate strength increase slightly. However, the strengthen modulus and limit strain decrease obviously.
