Abstract:
How to obtain good damping effect and prevent overturn are two key problems which have to be solved before applying isolation technology to high-rise buildings. By using comparative analysis of the seismic time history of aseismic and isolated high-rise buildings, the integrated multi-modal damping phenomenon of high-rise buildings is validated. According to the explicit formulas of multi-modes height-width ratio, it is found that high modes have big influence on height-width ratio calculation, which should not be neglected in the anti-overturning design of high-rise isolated buildings.
