Abstract:
Based on a series of consolidation tests for undisturbed samples in Fuzhou, the influence of consolidation pressure, load ratios, overload pre-pressure and overload pre-pressure duration on secondary consolidation properties was studied. The results show that the secondary consolidation coefficient Ca correspondingly increases or decreases with the increase or decrease of the loading ratio. Along with the increase of consolidation pressure, the secondary consolidation coefficient for normally consolidated soil increases at first and then decreases, but it remains increasing for over-consolidated soft soils. The decrease of secondary consolidation coefficient is related not only to the over-consolidation ratio but also to overload pre-pressure duration. For Fuzhou soft soil, the ratio of secondary consolidation coefficient Ca and compression index Cc is 0.029 to 0.052. ©, 2014, Central South University of Technology. All right reserved.
