Abstract:
Two novel experimental methods of acquiring dq inductance of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are presented to improve the previous experimental methods. Based on the experimental wiring diagrams, the mathematical models of equivalent impedances of PMSM in the motor terminals are derived by impedance decoupling analysis. It is revealed that with the different position of the motor rotor, there are specific multiple relationships between the terminal equivalent inductance and dq inductance when the modulus of terminal equivalent impedances is in minimum or maximum. Some previous researches indicate that with conventional AC method, dq inductance is less affected by AC armature currents, so the methods presented in this paper are valid to quickly and effectively acquire the dq inductance by simply rotating the rotor with hand and measuring the impedance with test instruments. The methods are approved to be effective and practicable by the practical test with some PMSM.
