Abstract:

The core losses and winding losses, as two part losses of a component, are difficult to be separated in the magnetics. At present, there is no effective method to measure winding losses under the given excitation condition, and to directly measure the winding losses of magnetics in power converters. This paper presented a direct measuring method of winding losses for magnetics, which obtained the winding losses through adding an auxiliary winding to the magnetics, and analyzing the relationship of the electrical parameters between the measured winding port and the auxiliary winding port. Finally, the air core inductor was used as the test object, the winding losses were measured by high precision power meters using the proposed method, which was verified by the impedance analyzer approach combining with the calculation, and the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method were validated. © 2018 Chin.
