Abstract:
Dendritic mesoporous silica microspheres were prepared by sol-gel method with ammonium as catalyst, TEOS as silica source and CTAB as surfactant. Nano Ag was in-situ loaded in the SiO2 microspheres. The effect of different amounts of ether and silane structure promoter on the morphology, structure and particle size of dendritic mesoporous SiO2 microspheres was studied. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of the samples were tested by antibacterial examination. The results show that the addition of silane structure promoter and ether is crucial to the formation of dendritic pores. The MIC of nano Ag in the mesoporous silica is between 3.16mg•L-1 and 3.95mg•L-1, the MBC is 6.32mg•L-1. Both of them are superior to pure nano Ag in antibacterial properties. © 2018, Journal of Materials Engineering. All right reserved.
