Abstract:

Winding losses are critical in the design of high-frequency magnetic components. Traditional analytical methods, such as Dowell model and Bessel function have been used to compute winding high frequency eddy current losses. However, as the operation frequency of power converter increasing and multi-strain litz wires widely used, these methods bring much error. By the deep analysis for the distribution properties of eddy currents on the round conductor caused by skin effect and proximity effect, an improved analytical model is proposed which will get the winding losses more accuracy. Finite element simulations and sample tests have effectively verified the accuracy of the proposed model. © 2019 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
