Abstract：

Nanocellulose　has　attracted　much　attention　in　many　fields　due　to　its　excellent　properties　and　unique　structure.　Its　preparation　methods　and　applications　have　become　the　research　hotspot　in　related　areas.　At　present,　there　are　many　methods　for　preparing　nanocellulose,　but　they　still　face　great　challenges.　Ionic　liquids　(ILs)　have　shown　great　potential　in　the　preparation　of　nanocellulose　because　of　their　excellent　solubility　and　recyclability　to　lignocellulose.　Therefore,　the　application　progress　of　ionic　liquids　in　the　preparation　of　nanocellulose　was　reviewed,　with　the　focus　on　the　achievements　of　ionic　liquids　as　a　pretreatment　method　and　as　both　solvent　and　catalyst　in　the　preparation　of　nanocellulose,　respectively.　Besides,　the　recovery　methods　of　ionic　liquids　were　also　summarized.　©　All　Right　Reserved.
