Abstract:

In strengthening engineering of reinforced concrete structures, it is difficult to vibrate concrete and guarantee the quality of construction if normal concrete is used. This is because the enlarged cross section of concrete is too small and the reinforcement is too dense. Self-compacting concrete (SCC) has high filling ability and good segregation resistance, which can compact into every corner of a complicated formwork, purely by means of its own weight and without the need for vibrating compaction. At the same time, the hardened SCC possesses fine mechanical performance and fine durability. So, the difficulty of vibrating casting concrete in strengthening engineering can be solved by using SCC. The study on the application of SCC in strengthening buildings and industrial workshops is presented in this paper. The optimization of mixture proportions of SCC and its construction technique such as the production, construction and quality control of SCC are expatiated in detail. The SCC enables the construction of strengthening engineering to be convenient, and the engineering quality to be improved. Compared with other strengthening schemes, the construction cost also can be reduced obviously. Using SCC in strengthening engineering can produce good technology and economy benefit.
