Abstract:
This paper presents sewage sludge to produce an adsorbent for Direct Fast Brown M removal. The optimal conditions for a larger surface area adsorbent were 4 M ZnCl2-immersed sludge pyrolyzed at 550 degrees C for 60 min, the highest BET surface area and micropore area achieves 174 m2/g, and 95 m2/g, respectively. The experiment to adsorb the Direct Fast Brown M waste water was carried out. It is noteworthy to point out that more than 80% reduction in COD value has occurred for wastewater sample. Experimental results demonstrate that sewage sludge, a waste material in abundant supply, is a viable source of activated adsorbents.
