Abstract:

A new analytical reagent, 2,3,7 - trihydroxy - 9 - (m - hydroxy)phenylfluorone (m-HPF) was synthesized: The acidic dissociation constant of m - HPF has been determined. Catalytic chemiluminescence of over twenty metallic ions in the system of m - HPF - H-2 O-2 has been tested. The color reactions of the reagent with some metal ions were studied in detail. pi -Electron distribution of m - HPF has been calculated by means of Huckel molecular orbital (HMO) method. Acidic dissociation constants have been assigned.
