Abstract:

A new analytical reagent, 2,3,7-trihydroxy-9-(m-hydroxy)phenylfluorone (m -HPF) was synthesized. The acidic dissociation constant of m-HPF has been determined. Catalytic chemiluminescence of over twenty metallic ions in the system of m-HPF-H2 O2 has been tested. The color reactions of the reagent with some metal ions were studied in detail. π -Electron distribution of m-HPF has been calculated by means of Hückel molecular orbital (HMO) method. Acidic dissociation constants have been assigned.
