Abstract:

The title compound with formula H34Ni5Mo12O52 (M-r = 2311.10) was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. It belongs to tetragonal system, 3 space group I4(1)/amd with a = 15.319(2), c = 30.645(3) Angstrom, V = 7191.2(16) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, D-c = 2.135 g/cm(3), mu = 3.369 mm(-1), F(000) = 4376 and S = 1.002. The final R = 0.0560 and wR = 0.1632 for 1036 observed reflections (I > 2sigma(I)). The result of the structure analysis indicates that in the anion [NiMoV O-12(40){Ni(H2O)(3)}(4)](10-) the title compound, Ni2+ occupies the centre and twelve MoO6 octahedra and four NiO6 octahedra form the cluster anion by sharing corner and edge.
