Abstract:
A series of Au/CeO2-RE2O3 (RE = Nd, Eu, Sm, Y) catalysts and Au/CeO2-Y2O3 catalysts with different Y2O3 contents were prepared by a deposition-precipitation method. The as-prepared catalysts were investigated by N-2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction, H-2 temperature-programmed reduction, and Raman spectroscopy, and the catalytic performance was evaluated using water-gas shift (WGS) reaction. The results showed that the catalyst activity and stability are obviously enhanced with the addition of Y2O3, and the best one was found to be the sample with Ce/Y molar ratio equal to 35. This catalyst shows the highest structural stability and a large amount of surface oxygen vacancies, and the interaction between gold and the support is also greatly enhanced.
