Abstract :
The longitudinal fluctuating forces of a propeller are a major cause of sound radiation of an underwater vehicle in the low frequency range. A hydraulic leveraged dynamic anti-resonance vibration isolator (HLVI) is proposed to attenuate the longitudinal vibration of a shaft system transmitted to the hull. The semi-analytical model of the shafting system with and without the isolator is set up by employing the frequency response synthesis method, in which the elasticity of the foundation is taken into consideration. Compared to the traditional isolation scheme and DVA, the proposed control scheme will not change the longitudinal effective stiffness and needs a small mass to attenuate the longitudinal vibration of the shafting system. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the key parameters of the isolator and their impact on its isolation performance. An experimental apparatus is set up to validate the isolation scheme. The acceleration frequency response results of the shafting system under axial excitation with both the frequency sweep method and discrete sinusoidal frequencies are presented and discussed. The results indicate that the proposed method is capable of attenuating the corresponding longitudinal vibration of the shafting system.

Abstract :
A lever-enhanced negative stiffness isolator (LENSI) is proposed to attenuate the longitudinal vibration of a shaft-plate coupled system in the low-frequency range. The isolator comprises a rigid lever, an isolator mass and a negative stiffness element, installed in parallel with the thrust bearing. The dynamic model of the shaft-plate coupled system is formulated using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Longitudinal acceleration frequency response of the bearing pedestal and mean square velocity of the plate are used to evaluate the isolation performance of the proposed isolator. By comparing the isolation performance of LENSI with traditional isolator such as dynamic anti-resonance isolator (DAVI) or absorber such as dynamic vibration absorber with negative stiffness (DVANS), the superiority of the LENSI is demonstrated. A parametric study is presented to clarify the influence of the isolator parameters on its isolation performance. It is shown that the LENSI is capable of isolate the longitudinal vibration of the shaft-plate coupled system with a much lower mass ratio in the low-frequency range.

PurposeIn order to improve the isolation capability of the longitudinal vibration of the shafting system in the low frequency range, a lever-type isolator with negative stiffness (LTINS) was proposed.MethodsThe LTINS arranged in parallel with the thrust bearing to isolate the longitudinal fluctuating force transmitted from the propeller-shaft to its foundation. The Rayleigh-Ritz method is used to establish the longitudinal dynamic model of the propeller-shaft-LTINS system.ResultsThe force transmissibility of the coupled system is formulated, and computed results are compared with those solutions obtained from the finite element method. A stability analysis is carried out based on the equivalent static and dynamic stiffness of the thrust bearing of the shafting system. A comparison study is conducted to compare the isolation performance of the proposed isolator with the traditional isolator such as the dynamic anti-resonance vibration isolator (DAVI), absorber such as the dynamic vibration absorber (DVA), and dynamic vibration absorber with negative stiffness (DVANS). Parametric optimization is carried out to investigate the impact of the parameters of the LTINS on its isolation performance.ConclusionThe results indicated that the proposed control method can achieve a much wider bandwidth than that of the traditional vibration control scheme with a much smaller mass ratio.

Abstract :
Under severe work conditions, mechanical parts made of beryllium-copper alloy may undergo fatigue failure, which seriously affects the overall service life of the equipment. Therefore, improving the fatigue resistance of such kind of alloys is of great significance for their engineering application. In this research, C17200 beryllium-copper alloy was surface strengthened by means of a self-designed surface mechanical rolling treatment (SMRT) device. The fatigue behavior before and after SMRT was investigated using a ball-on-rod rolling contact fatigue (RCF) machine, and surface failure mechanisms were analyzed. It was found that the RCF resistance of the untreated C17200 alloy was weakened with the increase in the maximum Hertzian contact stress (sigma max). After surface treatment, C17200 alloy exhibited superior RCF resistance subjected to SMRT with a static rolling force of 200 N. But among the specimens treated by SMRT, the RCF resistance of beryllium-copper alloys was weakened with the increase in the SMRT static rolling force. The RCF life of specimens treated by SMRT with a force of 400 N is similar to that of untreated specimens, while the RCF lives of specimens treated by SMRT with a force of 735 and 980 N are even lower than that of untreated specimens. Thus, applying the appropriate static rolling force during SMRT can improve the surface quality and compressive residual stress, as well as enhance the fatigue resistance of C17200 alloys.

Abstract :
Passive vibration isolation techniques with low-frequency characteristics have been a hot topic in the aerospace field. A hydraulic inertial vibration isolator is a highly effective type of isolator for controlling low-frequency vibrations. It typically consists of a main spring, a minor spring, an inertial mass, and a fluid domain. Due to its multi-domain nature, analyzing the isolation mechanism of this type of isolator is challenging. The bond graph method is employed to establish the dynamic model of the isolator. Subsequently, the state equations of the isolator are derived, and the energy equations of both the mechanical and the fluid parts of the isolator are obtained. Based on this, the energy transfer characteristics between the mechanical and fluid domains inside the isolator under external excitation are discussed. The time-domain response of the forces transmitted to the foundation is analyzed. It is shown that the anti-resonance frequency occurs when the forces transmitted to the foundation generated by the main spring and the fluid pressure are equal to that of the minor spring. To verify the proposed method's correctness, a prototype of the isolator is designed and a carefully designed experiment is conducted. The acceleration transmissibility of the isolator is used to conduct a comparative study. The results show that the theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental results. To depict the dynamic characteristics of the isolator under large amplitude vibration, the nonlinear dynamic model of the isolator is developed, and the corresponding force transmissibility of the isolator is formulated. The energy flow between the mechanical and the fluid domains under this condition is also analyzed. The results indicate that the energy flow responses exhibit a similar change tendency to the force transmissibility. However, the peak of the energy ratio between the mechanical subsystem and the fluid is the same as the linear condition, suggesting that this value is determined by the amplification ratio of the isolator. This research provides enhanced physical insight to understand the dynamic characteristics of this type of isolator and will help to shorten the design cycle of the isolator.

In this study, the creep properties of cylindrical metal rubber (MR) specimen under static compression at elevated temperatures were investigated by a series of creep experiments. The cylindrical MR specimen has a good symmetrical property, and the mechanical properties are consistent in its different axial section. The failure determination parameters of MR under the coupling of thermal and mechanical static load of the forming direction were proposed in four aspects: the overall height, the average stiffness, the energy dissipation, and the variation of the loss factor. The variation patterns of the properties of the MR specimens were investigated with a static load at different temperatures for 324 h. The analytical equipment, including the simultaneous thermal analyzer (TGA/DSC), X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM), were used for material characterization and failure analysis. Based on the results, it is found that there are significant differences in the MR property variations subjected to creep tests at different elevated temperatures. The results indicated that an appropriate heat treatment for MR specimens would improve the creep resistance at elevated temperatures. In addition, the overall height and energy dissipation of the MR specimens were increased, and the average stiffness and the loss factor were decreased under the creep tests at 200 degrees C and 250 degrees C. However, under the creep tests at 25 degrees C, 300 degrees C, 350 degrees C, and 400 degrees C, the overall height, the energy dissipation and the loss factor were decreased, but the average stiffness was increased.

本发明提供一种液压式惯容器非线性能量阱隔振装置,包括基座以及设置在基座上的大波纹管,所述大波纹管上端设有主质量块,所述大波纹管内部设置有小波纹管,所述小波纹管顶部密封设有至少一个惯性质量块,所述惯性质量块下方中部设置有向下延伸出小波纹管的支撑杆,所述基座侧下部设置有可沿基座径向移动的滑块,所述滑块与支撑杆之间设置有用以实现振动隔离的变刚度结构。本发明设计合理,构造简单,通过在惯性质量块与隔振器底座之间设置变刚度结构,解决了使用小的质量占比实现宽频吸振,将其应用于低频宽带减振,参数调节方便,能在长时间内稳定可靠地工作。

针对船舶推进轴系纵向低频隔振难的问题,将具备负刚度特性的碟簧与正刚度螺旋弹簧并联,设计了一种高承载准零刚度隔振器.建立了轴系-准零刚度隔振系统的动力学方程,利用谐波平衡法求解了系统的稳态响应,并用数值方法验证了求解的有效性.对于系统响应稳定性的问题,首先研究了准零刚度隔振器的非线性刚度、外激励力幅值对系统响应稳定性的影响规律,并结合推进轴系的纵向静变形限制,确定了非线性刚度取值;其次基于静力学理论设计了一组碟簧与螺旋弹簧的结构参数;最后分析了准零刚度隔振器的阻尼比、外激励力幅值对系统响应稳定性的影响规律,并确定了合适的阻尼比.结果表明:当非线性刚度、阻尼比分别设计为1×1012 N/m3、0.05时,系统主共振不再出现跳跃现象,稳态响应的解在200 Hz内都是稳定的;在承受10000 N载荷时,准零刚度隔振器仍然可以有效隔离10~200 Hz低频段的振动.

传统数学建模方法不能直接构建液压式动力反共振隔振器机液耦合能域系统的动力学模型,无法清晰反映其内部能量传递过程及内部液体与固体之间的交互作用。本文基于键合图理论详细阐述了该隔振器机械能域和液压能域子系统模型的建模过程以及机液能域耦合的技术方法,分析了共振频率点及反共振频率点处隔振器内部的机-液能量传递过程,计算了不同参数下隔振器的力传递特性。分析结果显示惯性质量的振幅在反共振频率点处远大于其共振频率点处的振幅,表明了隔振器的振动能量转移特点,同时由于机-液交互作用所产生的体积刚度对隔振器的传递特性影响很大,在实际分析时,必须予以考虑。为验证所建模型的正确性,本文研制了隔振器原理样机并搭建了隔振器实验平台,利用电磁振动台测试了隔振器的振动传递特性。对比结果表明,本文所建模型的计算结果与实验结果吻合良好,证明了本文所提出的动力学模型的合理性及有效性。该模型对于深入理解液压式动力反共振隔振器内部能量传递过程与结构优化设计具有很好的指导意义。

Particular attention has been given to the complexity of the elastic-porous sandwich structure with entangled metallic wire mesh (EMWM), which is a novel rigid-flexible heterogeneous and symmetrical material. The orthogonal experiment design for vacuum brazing was adopted for sensitivity analysis of the key fabrication process on the performances of an EMWM sandwich structure. The shear behaviors of the sandwich structures with different vacuum brazing parameters (e.g., heating rate, brazing temperature, and holding time) were analyzed by mechanical experiments and an interfacial microstructure. The results indicated that the failure behavior of the sandwich structure could be divided into four stages in the mode-I experiment. In addition, the joint quality of the different vacuum brazing process could be shown by the mode-II experiment, and the failure behaviors involves three stages. Additionally, the failure behaviors of the sandwich structure were mainly associated with the deformation of the EMWM core and the strength of the brazing joint. In addition, the relationship between the joint strength and the shear performance of the sandwich structure was revealed through the interfacial microstructure. Furthermore, the importance of the optimized vacuum brazing parameters to fabricate the novel sandwich structure with the best joint performance was demonstrated in this work.
