Fatigue performance of concrete-filled steel tubular K-joints with circularly arranged internal studs SCIE

Abstract :

Considering the distinct fatigue failure patterns exhibited by concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) K-joints, this study introduces a novel design featuring internally positioned studs arranged in a circular configuration along the intersecting weld seam, referred to as the CFST KSC-joint. A comprehensive full-scale fatigue test was conducted on the CFST KSC-joint model, with its hot-spot stress distribution and fatigue failure mechanisms compared to those of CFST K-joints without studs (CFST-K) and with array-arranged studs (CFST-KSA). Further, finite element parameter analysis was employed to explore the influence of the circular arrangement and geometric parameters of the internal studs on hot-spot stress. Drawing upon the existing array-arranged stud configurations, an optimized circular arrangement of internal studs for CFST K-joints was proposed. Our findings reveal that the failure modes of CFST KSC-joints mirror those of CFST-K and CFST KSA-joints, involving stages of fatigue crack initiation, propagation, and ultimate failure. The circular arrangement of internal studs outperforms the array arrangement in reducing hot-spot stress and improving fatigue life, thereby enhancing the fatigue performance of the joint. Among the stud size parameters, an increase in stud diameter (phi) significantly improves the effectiveness of reducing hot-spot stress, whereas variations in stud length (h) have a minimal impact. The optimal arrangement of internal studs near the intersecting weld involves placing a single ring of studs along the length of the intersecting weld at positions 0 degrees, 22.5 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 135 degrees, and 180 degrees.

Abstract :

To reveal the mechanism by which internal studs enhance the fatigue resistance of concrete-filled steel tubular K-joints (CFST K-joints) and to develop a method for calculating the stress concentration factor (SCF) of CFST K-joints with internal studs (CFST KS-joints), this study conducted full-scale specimen fatigue tests on CFST K-joints with array-arranged and circular-arranged internal studs. The influence of internal studs on the fatigue performance of CFST K-joints was thoroughly analyzed. The equivalent wall thickness theory was introduced, and the wall thickness correction factor was derived. A highly accurate SCF calculation method for CFST KS-joints was established. The research results indicate that the arrangement of internal studs can enhance fatigue life by 100.6% and reduce the SCF by 77.6%. Furthermore, the efficiency of circular-arranged studs is approximately twice that of array-arranged studs. When the undetermined factors mc for CFST K-joints with array-arranged and circular-arranged internal studs are set to 0.002 and 0.019, respectively, the maximum deviations of the wall thickness correction factor a are only 7.98% and 8.20%, respectively. Utilizing the equivalent wall thickness theory, SCF calculation methods for CFST K-joints with array-arranged and circular-arranged internal studs are derived, yielding errors of less than 19.6% and 21.4%, respectively.

Abstract :

To study the influence of transverse spacing and different arrangements of stud connectors on structural mechanical performance, ten local full-scale model specimens were designed and manufactured. Transverse bending and tensile performance tests were conducted at the center of the bridge deck support and the cantilever side. The results indicated that, under interior side curvature, the studs were subjected to compression on the side of the stiffener and tension on the outer side of the web. All studs on the outer side of the web experienced tensile fractures near the stud head. Under cantilever side curvature, the studs were subjected to compression on the outer side of the web. Due to the constraint effect of the stiffeners on the upper flange, the studs on the side of the vertical stiffener were primarily in tension. Under the same transverse arrangement of studs, the bending and tensile bearing capacities under cantilever side curvature were significantly lower than those under interior side curvature. For a given unit length arrangement of studs, when four studs can be accommodated within the flange width, it is advisable to evenly distribute the studs on both sides near the web to prevent detachment. It is recommended to avoid placing studs directly above the stiffeners and webs. When designing the transverse arrangement of studs, it is suggested to use four rows of studs, maintaining a ratio of 0.15 between the transverse spacing and the width of the upper flange of the I-beam.

Abstract :

To study the stress concentration factor (SCF) in the concrete-filled steel tubular K-joints with array-arranged internal stud (CFST KSA-joint), the CFST KSA-joints full-size specimen tests were carried out, the accuracy of the solid finite element (FE) nonlinear analysis method was validated, the mechanism of the effect of internal stud on the SCF of CFST KSA-joints were revealed, the theory of equivalent wall thickness was established, a simplified curved beam with equivalent spring support was proposed, and the wall thickness correction coefficient was derived, a CFST KSA-joint SCF calculation method with high accuracy was developed. The key study findings indicate that the deployment of array-arranged internal studs can effectively mitigates stress concentration in concrete-filled steel tubular K-joints (CFST K-joints), resulting in an 88.7 % reduction in SCF. Comparison of FE and test results showed a maximum deviation of only 6.30 % in displacement and 5.14 % in hotspot stress. Employing the CFST K-joints SCF calculation method to calculate the CFST KSA-joint SCF has an error of up to 42.3 %. Sensitivity analysis reveals that CFST KSA-joint chord wall thickness and inclined angle of the brace to the chord significantly influence SCF. Furthermore, a positive correlation was observed between stripping distance and hot-spot stress at the chord's tensile side. The SCF decreases with increasing stud diameter. Utilizing the equivalent wall thickness theory, the derived CFST KSA-joint SCF calculation method exhibits an error lower than 19.6 %, representing a 127 % improvement in accuracy compared to CFST K-joints SCF calculation methods that do not consider the stud.

Abstract :

为研究钢管混凝土 KK(CFST-KK)型节点应力集中系数(SCF)计算方法,开展CFST-KK型节点模型试验和实体有限元分析,通过试验与有限元结果对比分析验证了有限元模型正确性;通过有限元参数分析揭示CFST-KK型节点SCF的敏感性以及管内混凝土的影响机理;探讨现有相贯管节点SCF计算方法的适用性,基于节点刚度推导得到钢管KK(CHS-KK)型节点SCF计算方法,基于变形相似原则并考虑管内混凝土与主管管壁的剥离变形作用,提出了 CFST-KK型节点SCF计算方法.结果表明:有限元模型最大误差为8.0%,具有良好的精度;计算CFST-KK型节点SCF时,可只考虑轴力和面内弯矩的作用而忽略面外弯矩的作用;主管径厚比对CFST-KK型节点SCF的影响最为显著,主管内填混凝土可提升主管管壁整体径向刚度,使CFST-KK型节点SCF减小28.5%~48.9%;采用现有相贯管节点SCF计算方法计算CFST-KK型节点SCF时均存在较大误差;扩展有限元参数分析验证了文章提出的CHS-KK和CFST-KK型节点SCF计算方法具有良好的精度且计算结果偏于安全.

高商高速公路黄河特大桥主桥采用(190+260+260+190)m四跨连续钢管混凝土刚架系杆拱桥,采用拱墩固结、拱梁分离的结构体系,桥面全宽43.2 m.该桥采用钢管混凝土桁式平行拱肋,2片拱肋之间采用K撑和米字形横撑连接,钢管混凝土节点处拱肋内布设阵列式内栓钉以提高疲劳寿命.全桥采用整束挤压式吊杆体系,拱脚1号和2号短吊杆采用双吊杆,其余位置均采用单吊杆.全桥设置3组24根系杆来平衡拱脚水平推力.主梁采用双边工字钢梁,由工字形边纵梁、工字形横梁、工字形小纵梁通过高强螺栓连接而成.钢梁上铺设预制C50混凝土桥面板并现浇微膨胀混凝土湿接缝组成钢-混组合结构,桥面板厚24 cm.拱座采用内填混凝土+外包钢板的阶梯形钢-混组合拱座.主桥桥墩采用单箱单室空心墩,基础采用钻孔灌注桩基础.综合考虑结构受力、工程安全、质量、进度、经济等因素,主桥采用先梁后拱、分批次张拉系杆和吊杆的施工方法.采用空间杆系有限元模型对主桥结构进行强度和稳定性计算,并采用实体有限元模型对拱座局部受力进行计算,计算结果表明:主桥结构强度和稳定性及拱座局部受力均满足设计要求.

蒸汽养护制度对混凝土力学性能与微观结构影响研究

依托湛江机场高速公路预制箱梁工程开展混凝土基本力学性能、XRD和SEM扫描电镜测试,探究蒸汽养护混凝土微观结构的形成过程及其变化规律.研究结果表明:与常温养护相比,采用蒸汽养护不会改变混凝土水化产物的主要物相组成,但可促进早期水泥水化进程,7 d龄期C3S的衍射峰强度明显较低,AFt衍射峰强度较高,ITZ明显较窄;随着恒温温度和静停时间的提高,早期水化产物加快生成,浆体与骨料之间的结合更紧密,ITZ不断优化;恒温温度的提高将导致ITZ水化产物搭接程度也有所降低,对后期混凝土微观结构产生一定的影响,而延长静停时间更有利于后期水泥充分水化,浆体与骨料之间的结合逐渐紧密;蒸汽养护将显著提高早期混凝土的抗压强度和弹性模量,比常温养护可提前5d进行箱梁预应力张拉,大幅提升制梁效率,加快施工进程.

钢管混凝土混合柱抗震性能试验研究

Abstract :

钢管混凝土(CFST)混合柱是在柱底一定高度内采用钢筋混凝土(RC)腹板、其余节段采用空钢管缀杆连接CFST柱肢的一种新型组合结构.为研究CFST混合柱的抗震性能,以RC腹板高度系数(腹板高度与柱高的比值)和柱肢纵向间距为参数,进行了 6个CFST混合柱试件的拟静力试验.研究结果表明:水平低周反复荷载作用下,CFST混合柱的抗震性能良好,荷载-位移滞回曲线呈饱满梭形,主要破坏形式表现为格构段的剪切型破坏、柱肢塑性铰区域钢管的局部鼓曲变形以及RC腹板顶部刚度过渡段混凝土开裂、剥落;当RC腹板高度系数从 0.0变化到 0.3时,CFST混合柱的塑性铰区域由柱底截面上移至RC腹板顶部,试件弹性刚度和水平峰值荷载分别增大了约 53%和 31%,极限位移延性系数略微提高了约 5%;而当RC腹板高度系数从 0.3变化至 0.7时,CFST混合柱的塑性铰区域均出现在RC腹板顶部,试件弹性刚度和水平峰值荷载显著增大,分别增加了约 172%和 98%,相同位移下的累积滞回耗能也明显增加,但极限位移延性系数减少了约 16%;当柱肢纵向间距从 650 mm减小至 250 mm,柱肢塑性铰区域由RC腹板顶部转移至柱底截面,且结构的破坏形态逐渐转变为整体失稳破坏,弹性刚度和水平峰值荷载分别减小了约 67%和 47%.根据结构受力特点,提出了CFST混合柱水平承载力计算方法,得到的计算值与试验值吻合较好.

基于电磁原理的吊杆瞬时失效触发控制方法与应用

Abstract :

针对现有模型试验无法有效模拟吊杆瞬间断裂问题,提出吊杆瞬间失效模拟装置应具备的基本条件,并基于电磁原理和杠杆原理研发出一种吊杆瞬时失效触发装置.该触发装置主要包括一个钢制夹具和两个楔形连接块.推导吊杆瞬时失效触发装置磁吸力计算方法,得到适用于下承式钢管混凝土拱桥吊杆断裂大比例缩尺模型试验的吊杆瞬时失效触发装置的合理尺寸,并通过拉伸试验和模型试验验证触发装置的有效性.试验结果表明:吊杆瞬时失效触发装置的断索时间均小于0.1 s,可满足吊杆瞬间失效的要求.模型试验与有限元方法得到的断索过程动力响应基本一致,说明该吊杆瞬时失效触发装置可行、有效.

以一座多跨连续刚架系杆拱桥为研究对象,采用有限元软件MIDAS/Civil建立全桥有限元计算模型,开展墩台施工偏差对多跨连续刚架系杆拱桥受力性能影响分析.研究结果表明:墩台施工偏差引起拱肋截面受力变化主要影响因素是矢跨比,墩台纵向偏差引起轴力变化与拱轴线相对偏差成正比,墩台纵向偏差引起面内弯矩变化与实际偏差量成正比,墩台横向偏差引起面外弯矩变化与实际偏差量和跨径的乘积成正比.墩台纵向施工偏差影响大于墩台横向施工偏差,多墩台偏差引起的拱肋内力变化可由单墩台偏差叠加计算.以拱肋截面承载力为指标,墩台纵向偏差可控制在5L/6 000之内,墩台横向偏差可控制在30 mm之内.
