A novel framework for predicting the burst pressure of energy pipelines with clustered corrosion defects Scopus

Abstract :

The accurate prediction of failure pressures in pipelines containing multiple defects is important for assessing the integrity and reliability of corroded pipelines. First, the effect of the remaining defects on the failure pressure of the pipeline containing triple defects was investigated by developing the finite element (FE) model of pipelines containing triple defects. Then, to integrate machine learning method and finite element models to establish a prediction model for the interaction coefficients corresponding to combined corrosion defects. Subsequently, a framework for predicting the burst pressure of pipelines appliable to the scenario of group corrosion defects was proposed by integrating the interacting coefficient and the failure pressure of single defect. Finally, the accuracy of the model was demonstrated by the evaluation indicators and bursting experimental data of corroded pipeline containing cluster defects. The framework is expected to provide a maintenance foundation for the integrity assessment of pipelines with clustered corrosion defects. © 2024

Abstract :

[目的]文中旨在研究不同温度下焊接残余应力对含裂纹P91 钢蒸汽管道断裂行为的影响机制,通过数值模拟和试验验证,评估焊接残余应力对管道完整性和安全运行的潜在威胁.[方法]通过CT试样试验验证了有限元模型的可靠性,建立了P91 钢蒸汽管道的含裂纹焊接模型,并采用生死单元技术模拟焊接过程,运用热传递模块计算焊接过程温度场,通过热力耦合得出了焊接应力场的分布模式.[结果]焊接残余应力在焊接完成后沿焊缝中心对称分布,沿轴向方向朝两端递减,在管道厚度方向上,从内层到外层呈现波浪状的增减的分布规律,其中周向应力的数值最大.当管道中引入初始裂纹后,裂纹尖端区域产生了明显的应力集中现象,其中裂纹中心部分呈现拉应力,而裂纹两端呈现压应力.远离裂纹尖端韧带部分,焊接残余应力几乎不受裂纹引入的影响.随着温度的升高,焊接残余应力逐渐降低,并且不同温度下的焊接残余应力的分布规律保持相似.焊接残余应力显著降低了P91 管道的启裂内压,并且随着温度的升高,降低比例逐渐增大,在 800℃时,焊接残余应力单独作用即可导致裂纹启裂.焊接残余应力对管道启裂过程中的应力分布具有重要影响,沿管道厚度方向,周向应力在裂纹尖端位置迅速上升,并在一段距离达到最大值,沿管道裂纹尖端方向,裂纹中心附近应力均趋于稳定,然后迅速下降,在裂纹末端趋于平稳,并且在较高温度时裂纹末端可能会转变为压应力.[结论]焊接残余应力降低了P91 钢管道的启裂内压,随着温度升高降低比例越大,焊接残余应力促进了裂纹中心的启裂,抑制了裂纹两端的启裂,焊接残余应力还降低了启裂时裂尖所需应力,增大了裂纹区域的应力梯度,导致不同温度下裂纹区域的应力分布和启裂位置有所不同.

Abstract :

In this work, the effects of different nutrient contents in simulated soil solution containing sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) on the corrosion of X80 pipeline steel were studied. The highest amount of sessile SRB was found in the initial medium concentration of 1/3, followed by the concentration of 10%, and the lowest in the simulated soil solution without culture medium. However, the biofilm formed in the simulated soil solution without culture medium had the strongest adhesion and corrosiveness, with X80 steel having the highest corrosion rate, which was approximately 7.2 times of the initial medium concentration of 1/3. The research results have a positive role in promoting the development of SRB corrosion prevention technology for buried pipeline.

Abstract :

通过面外局部压缩法在CT试样中引入残余应力后进行了准静态断裂拉伸测试,以研究残余应力对试样断裂行为的影响机理;同时利用有限元方法建立了LOPC法引入的残余应力对不同裂纹深度试样断裂行为影响的评估模型,通过CT试样准静态断裂拉伸试验验证了模型的准确性。从数值模拟与试验结果中可以看出,残余拉应力降低了断裂时的载荷与位移,残余压应力的作用效果相反;随着初始裂纹深度的增加,残余应力对断裂载荷的作用效果并未产生明显变化,而对断裂位移的作用效果明显增强;两种类型的残余应力均增大了启裂J积分,但残余压应力对应的J积分大于残余拉应力对应的J积分;随着裂纹深度的增加,J积分逐渐增大。

Abstract :

针对氢能源管道储运过程中的氢脆问题,设计电化学充氢条件下的X80管线钢临氢行为综合测试试验,实测温度对管线钢氢脆敏感性的影响。结果表明:氢扩散系数和钢内壁氢浓度随着温度的升高而增加;315 K下X80管线钢的断后伸长率及断面收缩率最小,氢脆指数最高;试样断口形貌呈脆性断裂特征。分子动力学模拟结果进一步表明,315 K下裂纹尖端的位错和孪晶释放极少,因此诱发了脆性扩展行为。

Abstract :

The influence of temperature on hydrogen diffusion and hydrogen embrittlement of X80 steel was studied using electrochemical hydrogen charging. The hydrogen diffusion and subsurface hydrogen concentration in the steel increased with increasing the temperature. Macro slow strain rate tensile tests and microstructural analysis were performed to unveil the dependence of hydrogen-induced embrittlement susceptibility on temperature, which suggested a temperature threshold THE, max of 315 K. The demonstration of THE, max would be crucial for determining test temperatures of hydrogen-related engineering material applications.

Abstract :

Serious crevice corrosion was detected at wear ring and pump casing of an S32760 duplex stainless steel fire pump assembled on an offshore platform, which resulted in broken of the wear ring. The failure mechanism of the cracked wear ring was analyzed, and results showed that the chemical composition of the wear ring corresponds to the standard S32760. However, metallographic test results showed that the wear ring has many harmful sigma-phases and inclusions in the matrix, which led to the decrease of corrosion resistance of the material and induced crevice corrosion at the bolt joint and the wear ring. Besides, Chloride, sulfide, sodium and potassium have been found at corrosion products and pump casing fragments through energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry. Thus, to extend the service life of the fire pump, better sealing measures are needed to prevent crevice corrosion.

Abstract :

The corrosion mechanism of X80 steel in simulated solutions of acid red soil and product oil sediment under mechano-electrochemical interaction (MEI) was researched to build a new finite element model through multi-physical field coupling simulation technology. Based on the new model, the effect of external wall defect growth on the internal wall corrosion of oil pipelines was analyzed in detail. The results showed that the distributions of stress and corrosion of the internal wall were extremely affected by the external wall defect depth, and the corrosion rate of the internal wall was enlarged remarkably by the external wall defect growth. Moreover, attributing to the local galvanic cell effect under MEI, the growth rates of corrosion defects in the depth and length directions of the external defect were accelerated because these directions were associated with larger stress and equivalent to the anode, but the corrosion rate in the width direction of the external defect was inhibited because this direction was associated with smaller stress and equivalent to the cathode.

Abstract :

对脉冲电流止裂后的应变强化奥氏体不锈钢的组织和性能进行研究。结果表明,脉冲电流止裂后,在温度场和应力场共同作用下,应变强化304奥氏体不锈钢止裂处的金相组织形成了凝固区、再结晶区、马氏体区,其中马氏体区内马氏含量随应变量的增加而不断提高,且热影响区范围也进一步扩大,再结晶区也由部分再结晶转变为完全再结晶。应变强化奥氏体不锈钢的硬度随变形量的增加而增大,但由于脉冲止裂后,熔孔周边产生凝固区和再结晶区,使裂纹止裂处材料硬度又有了明显降低;而硬度的降低,在一定程度上表明其塑性的提高,这将有利于抑制裂纹的二次扩展。
