Occurrence and potential risks of organophosphate esters in agricultural soils: A case study of Fuzhou City, Southeast China EI

Abstract :

Fifty agricultural soil samples collected from Fuzhou, southeast China, were first investigated for the occurrence, distribution, and potential risks of twelve organophosphate esters (OPEs). The total concentration of OPEs (ΣOPEs) in soil ranged from 1.33 to 96.5 ng/g dry weight (dw), with an average value of 17.1 ng/g dw. Especially, halogenated-OPEs were the predominant group with a mean level of 9.75 ng/g dw, and tris(1-chloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TCIPP) was the most abundant OPEs, accounting for 51.1% of ΣOPEs. Abstract :

Fifty agricultural soil samples collected from Fuzhou, southeast China, were first investigated for the occurrence, distribution, and potential risks of twelve organophosphate esters (OPEs). The total concentration of OPEs (Sigma OPEs) in soil ranged from 1.33 to 96.5 ng/g dry weight (dw), with an average value of 17.1 ng/g dw. Especially, halogenated-OPEs were the predominant group with a mean level of 9.75 ng/g dw, and tris(1-chloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TCIPP) was the most abundant OPEs, accounting for 51.1% of Sigma OPEs. The concentrations of TCIPP and & sum;OPEs were found to be significantly higher (P < 0.05) in soils of urban areas than those in suburban areas. In addition, the use of agricultural plastic films and total organic carbon had a positive effect on the occurrence of OPE in this study. The positive matrix factorization model suggested complex sources of OPEs in agricultural soils from Fuzhou. The ecological risk assessment demonstrated that tricresyl phosphate presented a medium risk to land-based organisms (0.1 <= risk quotient < 1.0). Nevertheless, the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks for human exposure to OPEs through soil ingestion and dermal absorption were negligible. Abstract :

As a class of emerging contaminants in marine environments, organophosphate esters (OPEs) have attracted increasing attention of environmental scientists and policymakers due to their ubiquity and ecotoxicity. However, little is known about the environmental geochemical behaviors of OPEs in seawater of the South China Sea (SCS). In this study, the concentration, composition, pollution source, and ecological risk of twelve typical OPEs were analyzed in the surface seawater of the northern SCS between August and September 2021. The results showed that five out of twelve OPEs were detectable with the total concentration of five OPEs (Sigma 5OPEs) ranging from 7.17 to 67.6 ng/L in seawater. Chlorinated OPEs (Cl-OPEs) were the predominant OPEs, with a mean concentration of 18.4 ng/L, accounting for more than 69.8% of Sigma 5OPEs. Among the detected congeners, tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) was the most abundant OPE (mean: 14.8 ng/L, 56.2 %), followed by triethyl phosphate (TEP) (mean: 7.75 ng/L, 29.5%) and tris(1-chloro-2-propyl) phosphate (TCIPP) (mean: 2.07 ng/L, 7.87 %). Principal component analysis and Spearman correlation analysis indicated that terrestrial inputs, atmospheric deposition, and shipping activities were the potential sources of OPEs in the northern SCS. The ecological risk assessment revealed that TCEP posed low threats to algae and low ecological risks were predominantly observed from the mixture of OPEs. This work provides a basis for further investigation into the environmental behavior, toxicity, and risk of OPEs in the SCS and facilitates a better implementation of effective management actions.

An Okadaic Acid Aptasensor Based on Silver-enhanced Gold Nanoparticle Label SCIE CSCD PKU

Abstract :

Based on silver-enhanced gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) label technique that AuNPs could specifically catalyze the deposition of silver ions using hydroquin as a weak reducing agent, an efficient and sensitive electrochemical aptasensor was developed for detection of trace okadaic acid (OA). When the sample solution containing OA, the OA aptamer dissociated from the dsDNA on electrode surface due to the specific binding between OA and OA aptamer, AuNPs labeled signal probe (Sp) could hybridize with the resulted free capture probe (Cp) on the electrode surface. And then, the electrode was immersed in a silver staining reagent to perform following sliver staining. Finally, the oxidation signal of the nano-silver was directly detected by square wave voltammetry (SWV). Under the optimal experimental conditions, the linear range of the established OA aptasensor was 10. 0 pg/ mL -500. 0 ng/ mL, and the detection limit (3 sigma/k) was 8. 8 pg/ mL. The sensor was applied to detection of mussels. The experimental results showed that the content of OA in the edible part of mussels was 36. 0 ng/ g, which was lower than the permitted maximal limit of European Union (160. 0 ng/ g), and the recoveries were 94. 2%-112. 0% .

Abstract :

Phthalate esters (PAEs) are a typical group of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and widely found in the environment, which have attracted great concern due to the potential risks to environment and human health. It is urgent to develop a high-efficiency and high-sensitivity analytical approach for enrichment and determination of ultra-trace PAEs. Herein, magnetic covalent organic frameworks (Fe3O4@TAPB-DVA) were fabricated via a one-pot approach at room temperature and explored as a magnetic enrichment probe with high surface area (275.50 m(2)/g), good crystallinity, regular pore size distribution (3.1 nm) and outstanding saturation magnetization (26.5 emu/g). Accordingly, a simple and sensitive method based on magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) combined with HPLC-MS/MS was established to detect ultra-trace PAEs from fine particulate matter (PM2.5) samples. The proposed method showed wide linear ranges (1-400 ng/L), good linearity (r > 0.9978) and high enrichment factors (EFs, 6.99-95.01 folds) with low detection limits (LODs) ranged from 0.01 to 0.5 ng/L (S/N >= 3). On this basis, the proposed method was substantially employed for sensitive detection of low-abundance PAEs from PM2.5 samples, suggesting the promising application of the Fe3O4@TAPB-DVA in sample enrichment. Abstract :

Covalent organic framework composites have received great interest and regarded as new-generation porous materials in application of sample preparation. In this work, an agaric-like graphene oxide @ co-valent organic framework (AGO@COF) composite was first synthesized and used as an ideal adsorbent for enrichment of trace cytokinins (CKs) due to its large specific surface area, rich in micro-mesopore and or-ganic functional groups. The contact areas between AGO@COF composite and CKs were greatly increased due to the special agaric-like morphology, which would further improve the extraction efficiency. Hence, a rapid, simple and efficient AGO@COF-based dispersive solid-phase extraction method for detecting four CKs (N 6-(delta 2-isopentenyl)-adenine, kinetin, DL-dihydrozeatin and 6-benzylaminopurine) was success-fully established. The proposed method had low limits of detection (0.1 -2.0 pg mL -1), good reproducibil-ity (RSDs <= 3.9%, n = 5) and high recoveries (84.4 -107.7%). With this method, N 6-(delta 2-isopentenyl)-adenine and 6-benzylaminopurine in plants were successfully detected and quantified. Results showed that the developed AGO@COF composite possessed superior extraction performance and potential appli-cation in enrichment of trace targets from complex plant samples. Abstract :

Sorbents with high surface utilization and good dispersibility are of great importance for the extraction performance of magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE). In this study, a fish scale-like magnetic nanomaterial (Co@Co3O4/OCN) was synthesized, which can be used as a highly efficient MSPE sorbent due to its strong magnetism, special morphology, doping of N element, numerous micro-mesopore cavities and organic functional groups (hydroxyl and carboxyl). Furthermore, a Co@Co3O4/OCN-based MSPE method for monitoring the changes in the levels of three auxins (indole-3-acetic acid, indole-3-propionic acid and 3-indole butyric acid) was successfully established. Wide linear ranges (1.0-1000.0 pg mL(-1)) with good correlation coefficients (R> 0.9992), low limits of detection (LODs, 0.2-4.0 pg mL(-1)) and satisfactory repeatability (RSD <= 5.9%,n= 3) were obtained. Using the developed method, various growth parts and different growth periods of plants under Cd stress were monitored. The results showed that auxins in various parts of plants showed differential response under Cd stress, and there was a threshold for the changes in auxin levels against Cd stress. This indicates that the developed fish scale-like Co@Co3O4/OCN nanomaterial has a good application prospect for enriching small molecular targets containing hydroxyl and carboxyl groups.

本发明属于材料和固相微萃取纤维制备领域,具体涉及一种自组装功能化氮掺杂碳纳米笼固相微萃取纤维的制备及应用。以金属有机骨架ZIF‑67为原料,通过简单的高温煅烧制备得到氮掺杂碳纳米笼,然后进行氨基功能化;以制备聚多巴胺修饰过的不锈钢丝作为固相微萃取纤维基体;氨基功能化的氮掺杂碳纳米笼与聚多巴胺膜发生反应自组装在不锈钢丝表面,制成固相微萃取纤维。基于这种纳米笼材料的涂层纤维与气相色谱‑质谱(GC‑MS)联用实现了在实际样品中邻苯二甲酸酯类的检测。本发明制得的固相微萃取纤维具有不易脱落、寿命长、萃取效率高的优点,拓宽了金属有机骨架衍生的多孔碳纳米材料的应用领域。

Abstract :

Aflatoxin B-1 (AFB(1)) pollution is one of the most serious problems for food safety. In this paper, a split-type photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunoassay was designed for sensitive detection of AFB(1) in foodstuffs by using amorphous TiO2 with all-inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 nanocrystals (CsPbBr3/a-TiO2). The a-TiO2 layer not only improved the stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals, but also facilitated charge transfer, which resulted in the increasing photocurrent of the nanocomposites. Initially, a competitive-type enzyme immunoreaction was executed on a high-binding microplate between the analyte and alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-labeled AFB(1)-bovine serum albumin (AFB(1)-BSA) conjugate. Accompanied by the formation of the immunocomplex, the carried ALP triggered enzymatic hydrolysis to generate ascorbic acid (AA, as an electron donor) for increasing the photocurrent of the CsPbBr3/a-TiO2-modified electrode. Coupling with the competitive enzyme immunoassay, the photocurrent of the modified electrode decreased with the increase of target AFB(1) concentration in a dynamic working range from 0.01 ng mL(-1) to 15 ng mL(-1) with a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.8 pg mL(-1) under optimum conditions. Furthermore, the photoelectrochemical immunoassay was also utilized to detect AFB(1) in peanut and corn samples, giving acceptable accuracy in comparison with the referenced AFB(1) enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.
