Abstract :

Fast and accurate impervious surface extraction is important to monitor urban dynamics and ensure peo-ple's well-being. In order to improve the extraction accuracy of impervious surface, a composite imper-vious surface extraction index CBI based on NDBI, NDVI and MNDWI is proposed in the paper. The impervious surface extraction images in different land cover areas were compared with the NDBI and NDISI, respectively, and were assessed by using visual and statistical analysis. The results show that CBI has good robustness, less affected by the type of ground objects and sensors. The Kappa coefficients of CBI are the highest in different sensors and OLI images with different land cover areas, and the overall accuracy is above 91%. In the area with high coverage of vegetation and water, the extraction accuracy of CBI was significantly improved. CBI is more suitable for areas with high coverage of vegetation and water and has an improved Kappa coefficient of 0.1116 than that of the areas containing only a small amount of water and vegetation. As the NDISI algorithm uses the thermal infrared band, when the area of the study area is small, its extraction accuracy is low, indicating that the accuracy of the algorithm is affected by the size of the study area.(c) 2023 National Authority of Remote Sensing & Space Science. Abstract :

美国地质调查局(USGS)2020年12月正式发布了基于Landsat热红外光谱数据生产的2级地表温度产品(Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 surface temperature,LC2L2ST),但目前还鲜有该地表温度产品的相关研究报道.由于美国地质调查局已宣布自2022年开始将不提供除该产品之外的其他地表温度数据,因此有必要对该产品进行适时的评估.在同类遥感卫星产品中,MODIS地表温度产品的质量最被广大用户认可,应用也最为广泛,因此首次将Landsat新型热红外地表温度产品与MODIS地表温度产品进行交互对比,以评估新产品与MODIS地表温度产品的一致性.分别选取了我国的不同地区(福州、太湖、银川、敦煌)作为试验区,以20对同日过空的LC2L2ST与MODIS地表温度影像为数据源进行交互对比.影像涵盖植被、水体、建筑、荒漠等地物以及不同的季节.在试验区影像上选取一系列均质样区(ROI),通过各样区的地表温度均值散点进行拟合回归分析,研究二者地表温度间的差异及定量关系,并提出彼此转换的模型.结果表明,Landsat地表温度新产品与MODIS地表温度产品具有很高的相关性,4个试验区的决定系数(R2)皆大于0.98,集成4个试验区的总R2也接近0.98;但LC2L2ST比MODIS的地表温度平均高0.90℃(RMSE=2.29℃).分析发现,二者地表温度数据间的差异与其在空间分辨率、观测角度、地物类型和季节的不同有关.从不同地物和季节来看,LC2L2ST在晚秋和冬季略低于MODIS的地表温度,而在夏季极端高温的城镇、荒漠地区则明显高于MODIS的地表温度,且偏差可近7℃.总的看来,Landsat新型地表温度产品与MODIS同类产品的相关性显著,但在夏季的城市和沙漠地区的差异较大,因此,LC2L2ST新产品在夏季高温季节的适用性仍有待进一步基于地面实测温度的验证.鉴于两种地表温度数据产品仍存在着一定差距,因此二者如要协同使用,需要进行转换.本研究基于4个试验区的560个ROI样区构建了二者地表温度间的转换方程,并通过验证发现,经转换后的两数据差异性得到大幅缩小.因此,必要的数据转换有利于二者数据的协同使用,可为长时间序列的地表温度变化监测提供连续的遥感数据.

Abstract :

It is of great significance to grasp the spatio-temporal characteristics and expansion mechanism of urban built-up areas for formulating urban development strategy. This paper takes the built-up area of Fuzhou as the study area, uses multi-temporal Landsat images and remote sensing data of nighttime light (NTL) as the main data sources, and extracts the built-up area of NTL images with a higher spatial resolution comparison method. It discusses the development trends of the Fuzhou built-up area from 2000 to 2021 from the perspectives of temporal and spatial evolution characteristics and spatial morphology evolution and analyzes the relationship between population factors, economic factors, natural conditions, policy factors, and urban expansion. The results show that the urbanization level of Fuzhou is gradually improving, and the compounded nighttime light index (CNLI) increases from 0.0105 in 2000 to 0.0635 in 2021. The trend of expansion speed and expansion intensity is consistent, showing the changing trend of first fast and then slow, then accelerating and then slowing down. The expansion direction presents the trend of "expanding eastward, advancing southward and expanding westward", the spatial form tends to be irregular, and the migration range of the center of gravity is not significant. Population factors, economic factors, and expansion are positively correlated and closely related, and natural conditions and policy guidance affect the direction and mode of the expansion of the built-up area. The above results indicate that the overall urban development of Fuzhou shows an upward trend, which is consistent with the planned urbanization development trend of Fuzhou.

Abstract :

Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 Surface Temperature (LC2L2ST) was formally released in December 2020 by the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS). However, there are few reports on this new land surface temperature (LST) product. As this product will be the only LST data provided by the USGS starting in 2022, it is necessary to evaluate the product timely. Among various satellite LST products, the quality of the MODIS LST product is well recognized, and widely used. Therefore, this paper, for the first time, performed a cross-comparison between the new Landsat LST product and the MODIS LST product to examine the quality of the new product. Different regions in China (Fuzhou, Taihu, Yinchuan and Dunhuang) were selected as the test areas, and 20 pairs of LC2L2ST and MODIS LST synchronous images were used for the comparison. The images cover different land types, such as vegetation, water, town and deserts across different seasons. A total of 560 homogeneous regions of interest (ROI) were selected from the images of the test areas. The regression analysis was carried out to examine the fit of the ROIs and the quantitative relationship between the two LST products. The conversion model between them was also developed. The results showed that the new LC2L2ST product is highly correlated with the MODIS LST product. Each of the four test areas can achieve a coefficient of determination (R-2) greater than 0. 98. Integrating the 560 samples from the four test areas also obtain an R-2 close to 0. 98. Nevertheless, differences between the two products have also been founded. The LC2L2ST is 0. 90 degrees C averagely higher than the MODIS LST (RMSE = 2. 29 degrees C). However, LC2L2ST can be slightly lower than MODIS LST in late fall and winter seasons but significantly higher than extremely hot summer seasons with a bias close to 7 degrees C. The analysis revealed that the differences were related to spatial resolution, sensor viewing angles, land cover types and seasons. In general, the new LC2L2ST product strongly correlates with the MODIS LST, but significant differences were also observed in the summer months. Therefore, the new Landsat LST product must be further tested with in-situ measured LST data. Due to the differences in this paper, the two LST data products need to be converted when they must be collaboratively used. This study developed the conversion equation between the two LSTs based on the 560 ROIs. The verification found that the differences between the two data after conversion were greatly reduced. It is conducive to the cooperative use of the two LST data and providing continuous remote sensing data for long-term LST monitoring.

Assessing Ecological Quality Based on Remote Sensing Images in Wugong Mountain SCIE

Abstract :

This study takes multitemporal Landsat images as data source to explore the changes of Fractional Vegetation Cover (FVC) and ecological quality (EQ) of the Wugong Mountain (WGM). The regression model obtained from MODIS NDVI data was used to correct the temporal difference of Landsat normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) data in 2019, and the Remote Sensing based Ecological Index (RSEI) was calculated to assess the change of FVC and EQ in WGM. Results showed that, in the past 25 yr, the mean value of FVC has increased from 0.795 in 1994 to 0.890 in 2019, which consequently improved EQ from 0.746 to 0.773 respectively. The relationship among topographic factors, FVC and EQ was analyzed by using elevation, slope, and aspect. The effect of topographic factor on FVC and EQ in WGM was in the order of slope, aspect, and elevation. The value of FVC and RSEI increased first and then decreased with increment of elevation and slope. In detail, the favorable terrain of FVC and EQ was the area with an elevation of 500-1,400 m and a slope of 8 degrees-35 degrees. The value of FVC and RSEI in semi-sunny and sunny slopes were higher than that of shady slopes. The unfavorable terrain of FVC and EQ was the area of the meadow with an elevation greater than 1,700 m. This work highlights the importance of FVC and EQ which can provide scientific decision-making for the sustainability of WGM, and coordinate development of ecological environment protection and economic construction.

Abstract :

This work studied Precise Point Positioning (PPP) by using multi-system GNSS data with different-system combined forms according to the coordinates of the International GNSS Service (IGS) weekly solution. The work was also proceeded based on the data from the precise ephemeris and clocks of GBM products released by the Geo Forschungs Zentrum Potsdam (GFZ) and 8 IGS observation stations in the Asia-Pacific region. The optimal combination mode of multi-system combined PPP solution is obtained by taking the coordinates of the station in the IGS weekly solution as a reference. Simulation of dynamic multi system combination PPP shows that GPS positioning performed best in the single system, whereas dual system combination significantly improves the positioning performance compared with that of the single system. The GPS/GLONASS combination exhibits better positioning performance, while multi-system combination further increases the positioning accuracy. In particular, the accuracy in horizontal and vertical directions of GPS/GLONASS/BDS/Galileo is better than 2 and 3. 5 cm, respectively. Quantitative evaluation on the PPP solution results using the Post Processed Kinematic (PPK) results as a reference indicates that the GPS/GLONASS/BDS/Galileo combination has the best positioning performance. Comparisons from the static simulation dynamic results suggest that the positioning performance becomes slightly worse when the root mean square error (RMSE) of NEU in the three directions are 2. 24, 5. 27, 5. 8 centimeters, and the convergence time are 17. 08, 22. 35, 54. 08 minutes, respectively. © 2022, The Editorial Board of Journal of Basic Science and Engineering. Abstract :

基于Sentinel-1B SAR数据采用面向对象阈值分割法提取2018年寿光洪灾前、中、后3个时期的水体信息,同时基于Sentinel-2A光学数据利用面向对象CART决策树分类法实现研究区土地利用类型分类,分析了研究区的受灾情况。由Sentinel-1B SAR数据得到的水体提取结果总体精度均在95%以上,表明SAR数据适用于水体信息的提取。据监测结果,研究区内洪水淹没总面积为198.59km~2,其中寿光市受淹面积最大,在各类地物中工矿仓储用地受灾情况最为严重。

Abstract :

SARAL/AltiKA (SRL) is the first altimetry satellite with a Ka-band altimeter. To validate the advantages of the Ka-band altimeter over traditional Ku-band altimeters in marine geodetic applications, a comprehensive analysis is carried out over the South China Sea (SCS) (0-30 degrees N, 105-125 degrees E) from three aspects, namely the influence of load on waveforms, the precision of sea surface heights (SSHs), and the precision of altimeter-derived marine gravity field. Coastal waveforms of SRL, Jason-2, and CryoSat-2 are separately compared with corresponding ocean-type waveforms. The radius of coastal influence on SSHs of SRL/exact repeat mission (SRL/ERM) is the smallest, being about 3 km. Crossover discrepancies, global mean sea surface models, and tide gauge data are used to assess the precision of altimetric SSHs. Compared with the SSH precision of Ku-band Jason-2/ERM, the SSH precision of Ka-band SRL/ERM is 4.6% higher over the SCS and 10% higher in offshore areas. Gridded gravity anomalies are derived from measurements of SRL/drifting phase (SRL/DP) and CryoSat-2 through the inverse Vening-Meinesz formula, respectively. According to the assessment by shipborne gravity data and global marine gravity models, the precision of SRL/DP-derived gravity is higher than that of CryoSat-2-derived gravity over the SCS, especially in offshore areas. In some cycles, ground tracks of SRL/ERM have large drifting of more than 10 km from nominal tracks. The results show that the Ka-band altimeter of SRL has better precision in SSHs and marine gravity recovery than the Ku-band altimeter over the SCS, particularly in offshore areas.

Application of Multi-System Combination Precise Point Positioning in Landslide Monitoring SCIE

Abstract :

To verify the positioning performance and reliability of multi-system combination Precise Point Positioning in landslide monitoring, we carried out a multi-system combination Precise Point Positioning calculation experiment on the monitoring data of a single landslide disaster area in Fujian Province. The coordinates of the monitoring points obtained by a continuously operating reference station and the monitoring station for static relative positioning were used as reference values. The GPS system was used as the standard system and the combined PPP solution mode of G/R/C, G/R/E and G/R/E/C was used to obtain the surface displacement of the landslide area. The research showed that multi-system combination PPP converges to the centimeter level in about 30 min. The average value of internal accordant precision was more than 1 mm after convergence, and that of the external accordant precision was more than 5 cm, which meets the centimeter-level accuracy requirements in rapid landslide deformation monitoring.
