Electrochemical Conversions of Sulfinamidines into Sulfonimidoyl Fluorides SCIE

Abstract :

Sulfonimidoyl fluorides, the chiral aza-isosteres of sulfonyl fluorides, have gained increasing attention as a powerful linkage agent in the sulfur(VI)-fluoride exchange reaction (SuFEx). The hexavalent sulfonimidoyl fluorides are typically prepared from organosulfur in high oxidation states. We report herein an electrochemical approach using the readily available, bench-stable, yet underexplored tetravalent sulfinamidines without external chemical oxidants. The usefulness of the obtained sulfonimidoyl fluorides is demonstrated by their versatile SuFEx reactivity.

Abstract :

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) composed of infinite metal units exhibit enhanced electron transport and charge migration capabilities compared to discrete metal units. Herein, three underdeveloped isomorphic MOFs featuring 3D infinite zinc units are designed and synthesized. The Lewis acidity and photocatalytic activity of these MOFs are fine-tuned through atomic-level engineering of nitrogen atoms of ligands and the resultant change of charge transfer modes. These MOFs are promising catalysts in the photocatalytic monooxygenation of sulfenamides with molecular oxygen. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the uneven charge distribution and large dipole moment at the pyridine center of 1-PTB and the infinite Zn unit frameworks of degenerate energy levels are key to its excellent photocatalytic activity.

Czochralski growth, optical and magneto-optical properties of Ce9.33(SiO4)6O2 crystal SCIE

Abstract :

Ce9.33(SiO4)6O2 (CSO) crystals were grown by the Czochralski (Cz) method. Rietveld refinement of XRD patterns confirmed the oxyapatite structure of CSO, XPS analysis revealed the valence of Ce ions in CSO crystals. Magnetization curve and temperature dependencies of the magnetic susceptibility were measured, paramagnetic behavior and magnetic anisotropy have been observed. Photoluminescence and Faraday rotation characteristics of the CSO crystal were investigated at room temperature. Verdet constants of CSO were about 1.6 times as large as those of TGG. Baesd on Van Vleck-Hebb theory, the effective transition wavelength and probability of CSO crystal were calculated and compared with other Ce3+-containing crystals. The absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of 4f -> 5d transitions in Ce3+ ions in CSO crystal were studied.

Abstract :

Due to the advantages of ultra-broad bandwidth absorption and easy fabrication, passively mode-locked ultrashort lasers using two-dimensional (2D) materials as saturable absorbers (SA) have attracted extensive attention in recent years. In this experiment, the structure and light absorption properties of 2D nickel-cobalt layered double metal hydroxide (NiCo-LDH) nanosheets are characterized. The nonlinear absorption coefficient of NiCo-LDH are measured by Z-scan method to be -1.1 cm/GW. Using the NiCo-LDH SA, passively mode-locking is realized in a Nd:YVO4 bulk laser near 1 μm, a Nd:Y0.15V0.85O4 bulk laser near 1.3 μm and a Tm:YAG ceramic bulk laser near 2 μm. In the 1 μm passively mode-locking experiment, a continuous wave mode-locking (CWML) laser is obtained at 1065.92 nm with a repetition rate of 69 MHz and a pulse width of 18.0 ps. To our knowledge, this is the first time a CWML laser has been obtained using a layered double hydroxides (LDHs) SA. In addition, Q-switched mode-locking (QML) lasers are obtained based on NiCo-LDH SA at 1.3 μm and 2 μm. The experiments demonstrate that NiCo-LDH mode locking is a very promising practical technique for directly generating ultrashort pulsed laser from a laser oscillator. © 2022 SPIE.

Pulse energy enhancement in a Passively Q-switched Yb:Lu0.74Y0.23La0.01VO4 laser with ReS2 saturable absorber SCIE

Abstract :

ReS2 is emerging as a promising saturable absorber for solid-state lasers from visible to mid-infrared. In this paper, we report on a new approach of integrating a ReS2 saturable absorber into Yb:Lu0.74Y0.23La0.01VO4 crystal based Q-switched laser. Under maximum pump power, the highest pulse energy at 1.03 mu m wavelength was measured as 5.3 mu J, which is one order of magnitude higher compared with the previously reported 1 mu m solid-state passively Q-switched lasers based on ReS2 saturable absorber.

Abstract :

A passively Q-switched (PQS) Yb3+:LuYLaVO4 laser based on a GaAs saturable absorber is reported. The nonlinear saturable absorption property of GaAs has been studied, the saturation fluence, modulation depth and non-saturation loss were characterized to be 3.3 MW/cm(2), 4.5% and 54.7%, respectively. In the PQS laser operation, the highest pulse repetition rate, shortest pulse width, largest single pulse energy and highest pulse peak power were measured to be 40 kHz, 4 ns, 16.7 mu J and 4.2 kW. The peak power achieved nearly three orders of magnitude improvement compared with the former Yb3+:LuYLaVO4 PQS lasers.

Abstract :

利用改进的提拉法生长了一种新型YVO4-Nd:YVO4复合晶体,在晶体中部实现了Nd3+的0.10% ~0.25%(原子数分数)浓度梯度掺杂.晶体中,Nd3+掺杂区的弱吸收系数较未掺杂区大,表现出界面吸收现象.观测了复合晶体对泵浦光的吸收和温度分布,发现晶体沿轴向的泵浦吸收相对均匀,温度梯度相对较小.未镀膜的复合晶体样品在1064 nm波段显示了良好的连续激光性能,光-光转换效率为37.0%,斜效率为40.9%.

Abstract :

CaDyAlO4 (CDA) crystals with dimensions of Phi 25 x 28 mm3 were grown by the Czochralski method. The presence of a small amount of oxygen in the growth atmosphere will cause the coloration of CDA crystal, and correspondingly reduce the transmittance in the range of 400-730 nm. Rietveld structural refinement of XRD patterns revealed a slight difference in the unit cell parameters of the brown and yellow-green CDA crystals. The angular and temperature dependencies of the magnetic susceptibility were measured, indicating that CDA crystal has remarkable magnetic anisotropy and abnormal magnetic behavior in the a and c direction below 150 K. Faraday rotation characteristics of CDA crystal were investigated at room temperature. Verdet constant of CDA at 500-700 nm band is about 1.1 times as large as that of TGG, but only 0.69 fold of that for isostructural CaTbAlO4 (CTA). Based on the Van Vleck-Hebb theory, the effective transition wavelength and probability of three crystals were calculated and compared. The absorption and magnetic circular dichroism spectra (MCD) of 4f-4f transitions in Dy3+ ions in CDA were studied.

Abstract :

设计并制备碲锌钡铌(TeO2-ZnO-BaF2-Nb2 O5)系列玻璃,考察Nb2 O5摩尔分数变化对玻璃结构和玻璃性能的影响.结果表明,随着Nb2 O5摩尔分数的增加,[TeO4]和[TeO3]的摩尔分数比先增加后减少,玻璃的网络结构先增强后减弱.相应地,玻璃的热稳定性先增加后降低,ΔT和S值先增大后减小.在Nb2 O5占15%(摩尔分数)时热稳定性最高.另外,随着Nb2 O5摩尔分数的增加,玻璃带隙减小,有利于光学性能提高.

Abstract :

A passively-Q-switched Yb:Lu1-x-yYxLayVO4 laser based on a two-dimension (2D) molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2) saturable absorber (SA) is reported for the first time to the best of our knowledge. High quality few layered 2D MoTe2 nanosheets were fabricated by liquid phase exfoliation (LPE) method and used as the SA, whose saturable absorption properties around 1.0 mu m were characterized with a saturation fluence of 3.02 mu J/cm(2) and a modulation depth of 8.3%. In the passively Q-switched laser operation, the shortest pulse width of 500 ns was obtained with an average output power of 0.33 W at a pulse repetition rate of 117 kHz, corresponding to the maximum single pulse energy of 2.8 mu J and the peak power of 5.6 W.
