Oriented-aptamer encoded magnetic nanosensor with laser-induced fluorescence for ultrasensitive test of okadaic acid SCIE

Abstract :

Okadaic acid (OA) biotoxin acts a well-established inhibitor of protein phosphatase even a tumor promoter of human being, arouse great attention in safety monitoring. However, the powerful and convenient nanosensing technologies for addressing the demands such as rapidity, high sensitivity, and stability in the in-field test of OA shellfish toxin is still scarce. Herein, a high-performance magnetic biometric nanosensor (MBNS) integrating oriented aptamers and ultrasensitive laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) was firstly proposed for the in-field detection of trace OA in seafoods. High-density aptamers hybridized with FAM-labeled cDNA were tethered to the surface of AuNPs on magnetic MIL-101@Fe3O4, and then finely regulated by mercaptohexyl alcohol (MCH) to be orderly assembled, as was successfully utilized to engineer an active biological nanosensor for highly specific recognition of OA. Aptamers anchored on magnetic Fe3O4@MOF@AuNPs activate a biometric micro -reactor of OA, in which the superior LIF properties, conformation regulation of aptamer, and the specific recognition using aptamer genes were adopted. The magnetic nanosensor with an excellent specificity and super sensitivity for OA analysis was achieved within 20 min. Moreover, the content of captured OA could facilely be recorded by measuring the fluorescence intensity, and the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation of OA (LOQ) reached 0.015 and 0.050 ng/mL respectively, which was far better than most aptamer-based biometric sensing methods. The feasibility for accurate test of trace OA toxin in the fortified shellfish samples was validated with the recovery yields of 88.2-107.5% and RSD of 0.5-7.6%, respectively. The result demonstrated that the oriented-aptamer encoded MNS had significant practical values in rapid and ultrasensitive detection of OA biotoxin and the related safety applications.

Abstract :

To improve the photocatalytic performance of carbon nitride (g-C3N4), a flower-shaped COCN/ZIS composite was synthesized by growing ZnIn2S4 (ZIS) onto structurally defective g-C3N4 (COCN) nanosheets. The experimental results indicate that the prepared photocatalyst has excellent photocatalytic performance for the degradation of methylene blue (MB), with an apparent rate constant of 0.0661 min−1, which is approximately 6.89, 6.06 and 7.39 times greater than that of g-C3N4 (0.0096 min−1), COCN (0.01091 min−1) and ZIS (0.00895 min−1), separately. The improvement in the photocatalytic performance of COCN/ZIS can be attributed to the defect structure of COCN and the well-matched relationship between COCN and ZIS, both of which result in valid photoinduced charge separation and migration. This has also been confirmed by the synergy coefficient (3.33). Furthermore, the total organic carbon content (TOC) removal rates of MB and wastewater by the 60-COCN/ZIS composite were 85.96 % and 75.32 %, respectively, suggesting that the resultant catalyst has potential application in the photodegradation treatment of MB. Finally, the capture experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis show that ·OH, ·O2– and h+ species are generated during the process, among which ·OH plays a great part in the photodegradation of MB by the COCN/ZIS compound. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

Synergistic enhancement of photocatalytic degradation of dyes by structural defects and silver nanoparticles SCIE

Abstract :

The AgNPs@NCN composite was prepared by loading silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto the surface of carbon nitride (g-C3N4) with nitrogen-vacancy and cyanide defect and used for the synergistic degradation of methylene blue (MB) by the structural defect of g-C3N4, the surface plasmon resonance of AgNPs and Schottky barrier formed between them. The morphology, structure, chemical composition and photoelectrochemical properties were characterized by SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, XPS, BET and UV-Vis. The effects of different loads of AgNPs on photocatalytic performance were investigated and the results showed 10%AgNPs@NCN exhibited good photodegradation performance. The maximum degradation efficiency of MB by 10%AgNPs@NCN reached 100% with the rate constant of 0.05443 min-1, which was 9.15 and 6.89 times higher than those of g-C3N4 (0.00595 min-1) and NCN (0.0079 min-1), respectively. The mineralization degree of organic pollutants was evaluated by total organic carbon (TOC) and the results showed that the TOC removals of 10%AgNPs@NCN photocatalytic reaction were 77% and 93% for MB and wastewater, respectively. After four cycles of photocatalytic degradation experiments, the degradation rate of MB was still more than 98.2% and there was no significant change in the characteristic stretching of the catalyst, indicating that the prepared photocatalyst had good stability and reusability.

Abstract :

Three dimensions (3D) flower-shaped g-C3N4/MoS2 composite was prepared by immobilizing molybdenum di-sulfide (MoS2) on carbon nitride (C3N4) with structural defects by in-situ hydrothermal assay. The morphological structure and photochemical properties of the obtained catalysts were characterized by SEM, TEM, EDS, FTIR, XRD and XPS. Using methylene blue (MB) as the target pollutant, the photocatalytic performance cyclic stability of g-C3N4/MoS2 composite were studied under simulated sunlight. The results showed that the prepared catalyst could remove 98 % of MB within 60 min and still reached 96.4 % after 5 cycles with good stability and regeneration. Its apparent rate constant was 0.0523 min-1, which was 11.5, 8.2 and 13.9 times higher than those of g-C3N4 (0.00453 min-1), C3N4 with structural defects (0.00635 min-1) and MoS2 (0.00377 min-1), indicating that the synergistic effect of structural defects, heterojunctions and 3D structure has achieved efficient degradation of MB. Furthermore, the photocatalytic mechanism of g-C3N4/MoS2 composite was proposed by combining free radical capture experiment and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and the results showed that that center dot OH and center dot O2- played a primary role in the catalytic degradation.

Abstract :

In this study, a novel surface molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on zeolitic imidazolate framework (MIP@ZIF-7) was prepared using dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as template via "one-pot " method, which was used for extraction and determination four phthalates (PAEs) in food samples coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The obtained MIP@ZIF-7 was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), energy dispersive spectrum (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nitrogen adsorption-desorption and contact angle tester. The adsorption performance of the prepared ZIF-7, MIP and MIP@ZIF-7 was compared and the results showed that MIP@ZIF-7 exhibited higher adsorption capacity and selectivity for PAEs owing to combining the high specific surface area and excellent stability of ZIF and the specific recognition of MIP. Subsequently, several requisite synthesis and extraction parameters were investigated. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range of the method was 1-100 mu g L-1 and the detection limits were in a range of 0.1-0.8 mu g L-1. The spiked recovery rate of PAEs from drinking water, carbonated beverages and fruit juices ranged from 77.1 +/- 1.5% to 100.7 +/- 3.4%, with relative standard deviation of 1.65-4.87% (n = 3). The results indicated that MIP@ZIF-7 could be effectively employed for extraction and determination trace PAEs in food.

Abstract :

Developing functional fiber coating for selective solid phase microextraction (SPME) of trace pollutants is critical in environmental analysis. Herein, the novel covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with three-dimensional (3D) frameworks and multiple interactions were designed and presented for the selec-tive SPME of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Using tetra (p-aminophenyl) methane (TAM) and 1,3,5-triformylphloroglucinol (Tp) as the monomers, the 3D TpTAM-COF was synthesized and possessed a large specific surface area, high thermal stability, and spatial selectivity toward PCBs. Characterizations such as morphology, XPS, XRD, thermal stability, and enhancement factors (EFs) were studied. Multiple in-teractions including pi-pi conjugation, hydrophobic interaction, and selectivity toward non-planar struc-ture were adopted, which resulted in a superior adsorption affinity toward PCBs on TpTAM-COF. Under the optimal conditions, the spatial selectivity toward PCBs, organic analogs (o-dichlorobenzene, biphenyl) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (naphthalene, pyrene, and anthracene)) was achieved. Efficient and selective adsorption of fifteen PCBs was fulfilled with the highest EF up to 10305. Using the HS-SPME-GC-MS method, the recoveries of PCBs in the river water and soil samples were determined to be 84.8 +/- 7.8% -117.2 +/- 8.5% (n = 3) and 84.4 +/- 8.6% -114.7 +/- 7.6% (n = 3), respectively. Compared with most commercial SPME fibers and other COFs-based fibers, the resultant TpTAM-COF-coated fibers possessed higher selectivity and EFs of PCBs. It proposed a promising approach for selective SPME of trace PCBs by multiple interactions in the steric structure of 3D COFs.(c) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A novel aptamer-functionalized metal-organic framework nanofibrous composite (viz. PAN/UiO@UiO(2)-N-3-aptamer) with a high aptamer coverage density was proposed based on the electrospinning and seeded growth method, and used for specific affinity recognition of trace Microcystin-LR (MC-LR). Heterobifunctional ligand was used to modify the metal-organic framework nanoparticles (MOF NPs) surface, which could passivate the MOF surface with respect to unmodified DNA, followed by coupling massive aptamers on MOF of the solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber using click chemistry. Characterizations including morphology, spectra analysis, mechanical stability, binding capacity and specificity were fulfilled. Applied to the analysis of MC-LR, the good selective and sensitive recognition were obtained with the detection limit as low as 0.003 ng/mL, which was better than most non-specific SPME or solid-phase extraction (SPE) protocols. The stability and reproducibility were acceptable, and the intra-day, inter-day and column-to-column relative standard deviations (RSDs) for the recovery of MC-LR were gained in the range from 2.5% to 14.3%, respectively. Satisfactory recoveries of MC-LR in environmental water samples were measured as 96.3 +/- 4.7% - 98.9 +/- 2.7% (n = 3) in tap water, 94.4 +/- 2.5% 96.1 +/- 3.5% (n = 3) in pond water, and 97.0 +/- 2.1% - 97.9 +/- 3.1% (n = 3) in river water, respectively. This work demonstrated that the electrospun nanofibrous composite with massive aptamers would be a better alternative for ultra-trace MC-LR detection with good selectivity, matrix-resistance ability and high resolution.
