LDMP-FEC: A Real-Time Low-Latency Scheduling Algorithm for Video Transmission in Heterogeneous Networks SCIE

Abstract :

With the rapid development of mobile networks and devices, real-time video transmission has become increasingly important worldwide. Constrained by the bandwidth limitations of single networks, extensive research has shifted towards video transmission in multi-network environments. However, differences in bandwidth and latency in heterogeneous networks (such as LTE and Wi-Fi) lead to high latency and packet loss issues, severely affecting video quality and user experience. This paper proposes a Forward Error Correction (FEC)-based Low-Delay Multipath Scheduling algorithm (LDMP-FEC). This algorithm combines the Gilbert model with a continuous Markov chain to adaptively adjust FEC redundancy, thereby enhancing data integrity. Through the FEC Recovery Priority Scheduling (FEC-RPS) algorithm, it dynamically optimizes the transmission order of data packets, reducing the number of out-of-order packets (OFO-packets) and end-to-end latency. Experimental results show that LDMP-FEC significantly reduces the number of out-of-order packets in heterogeneous network environments, improving performance by 50% compared to the round-robin and MinRtt algorithms, while maintaining end-to-end latency within 150 ms. Under various packet loss conditions, LDMP-FEC sustains a playable frame rate (PFR) above 90% and a Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) exceeding 35 dB, providing an efficient and reliable solution for real-time video and other low-latency applications.

Abstract :

传统的可重构智能表面辅助的空间调制(RIS-SM)通信系统利用接收天线的索引来传输额外的信息比特,因此该系统数据传输速率的提升是以增加接收机天线数为代价。为了提高RIS-SM系统的数据传输速率和能量效率,该文提出可重构智能表面辅助的联合空间和码索引调制(RIS-JSCIM)通信系统。该系统利用多元正交幅度调制(M-QAM)符号、空域的接收天线索引和码索引传输信息比特。天线索引和码索引传输的信息比特不需要消耗能量,因此RIS-JSCIM系统能够获得良好的能量效率。该文对比了RIS-JSCIM系统和其他系统的能量效率、系统复杂度和误码率性能。对比结果表明,所提RIS-JSCIM系统以增加一定复杂度为代价,能够获得相比于其他系统更优异的能量效率和误码率性能。

Abstract :

针对现有教学以课堂授课为主要形式的状况,该文对“无线通信原理”的实践课程设计进行了讨论。该课程以二维图像为输入输出的通信系统作为实验对象,该系统涵盖信源编码、信道编码、调制解调和信道等模块。通过学生自主设计,深化对信息传输基本流程和不同信道影响的理解,同时提高实践能力。相对于传统实践课程,该实践课程更注重整个通信系统的设计,并引入5G时代先进的低密度奇偶校验码技术,加深学生对通信系统的理解,并对传输性能有直观的体验,为无线通信实践型人才培养提供新思路。

Abstract :

This letter proposes a code index modulated chaotic ambient backscatter communication (CIM-CAmBC) over Rayleigh fading channels. In this system, multiple bits of the backscatter device can be transmitted in a radio frequency (RF) source symbol by using CIM technique. Moreover, we design a differential Walsh code matrix for CIM at the backscatter device such that direct-link interference (DLI) can be effectively eliminated at the reader without acquisition of channel state information (CSI). The theoretical error performance of the proposed CIM-CAmBC over multipath fading channels is derived and then verified by simulations. The results demonstrate that the proposed system can outperform the conventional DCSK-AmBC and CIM-DCSK-AmBC by more than 3 dB over fading channels.

Abstract :

场景文本识别(Scene Text Recognition,STR)使计算机能够获取自然场景图像中的文本信息.在STR的研究中识别准确性始终是关注重点.对于计算资源受限的边缘设备,模型的参数量和计算效率也同样重要.针对该问题,提出了基于多头注意力融合的自然场景文本识别(Scene Text Recognition Based on Multi-Head Attention Fusion,MAF)算法.通过利用多头注意力(Multi-Head Attention,MHA)机制设计了视觉编码器,实现对规则和不规则场景文本图像的视觉特征深度提取.为了增强模型对字符间间距变化和语义相似性的感知能力,提出了增强位置编码以及结合输入上下文和置换模型的语义编码器.通过MHA将视觉和语义特征信息融合,提高在复杂环境背景下的文本字符识别准确率.实验结果表明,MAF的参数量仅为7.6×106,FLOPS为1.0×109,在真实STR数据集上的平均识别准确率达到95.6%,有效平衡了识别任务的准确性和计算效率,具有一定的应用潜力.

Abstract :

In this paper, a quadruple code index modulation (QCIM) technique is proposed for low-complexity and spectral-efficient wireless transmission. The proposed QCIM scheme utilizes quadruple code indices in addition to M-ary phase shift keying symbols to transmit more information bits compared to conventional code index modulation (CIM) schemes. To recover the transmitted information bits, we propose maximum likelihood detection (MLD) and greedy detection (GD) algorithms for the proposed QCIM, with the GD algorithm offering almost the same bit error rate (BER) performance to the MLD algorithm but with significantly lower system complexity. Additionally, we extend QCIM into a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted QCIM (RIS-QCIM) system, which significantly enhances BER performance and eliminates the need for channel state information at the receiver. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed QCIM and RIS-QCIM achieve higher spectral efficiency and superior BER performance in contrast to benchmark schemes. © 2015 IEEE.

Abstract :

Scene text image super-resolution (STISR) aims to enhance the resolution and legibility of text in low-resolution images. In cases of spatial deformation or low-resolution text images, the lack of details in text regions and the difficulty in aligning semantic cues and visual features with character position make it difficult to recognize text effectively. In order to address these challenges, this paper proposes a perceiving multi-domain character distance for scene text image super-resolution method (PMDC), which improves the image text region and edge texture details. Firsly, the visual and semantic features are extracted by using the asymmetric convolution module along with the semantic prior module. Then the enhanced position coding is obtained by the character distance perception module to perceive the distance change and semantic similarity between characters. Finally, the guiding cues and visual features are combined to restructure the pixels and generate a super-resolution text image. In comparison to TATT, experimental results from the public dataset TextZoom showed an increase of 0.11 dB in the fidelity of the peak signal-to-noise ratio index. This improvement effectively enhances the clarity of the text area and the detailed edge texture. Additionally, the recognition accuracy was improved by 1.4%, which effectively enhances the readability of the text image. © 2024 Chinese Institute of Electronics. All rights reserved.

针对车联网计算卸载需求量大及车辆网络拓扑变化随机性强的问题,本文提出一种基于邻域跟随的车辆多跳分簇方法,并采取多指标综合加权的方式研究其稳定性特征. 现有针对车辆分簇的研究方案普遍存在指标单一化、分簇机制局限于单跳或固定跳数、分簇效率低及缺少簇头替换机制等问题. 鉴于邻域跟随策略稳定性较优且分簇效率较高等特性,本文提出车辆基于邻居节点内综合指标最优准则选择稳定性最好的节点跟随方案,通过去环和剪枝算法使得车辆的跟随结构规范且扁平化,进而形成一个稳定性更高的车辆簇,并利用主从簇头和簇维护机制增强车辆簇的鲁棒性. 仿真结果表明,与现有的车辆分簇方法相比,所提算法在簇稳定性和分簇效率上均具有较好的性能.

Expectation Propagation Detection With Physical Network Coding for Massive MIMO Systems SCIE

Abstract :

Both massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) and physical-layer network coding (PNC) techniques can effectively improve the network throughput. However, for PNC-aided massive MIMO systems, the high-order modulations superimposed at the relay particularly bring computational burden and performance degradation to the signal detection. Thus, this letter proposes an iterative MIMO-PNC detector from double expectation propagation (DEP) as a high-accuracy solution in this large-scale system. By exploiting the PNC characteristic, the summation and difference (SD) information of the user pair messages are first linearly formed and iteratively updated between the DEP detector and the channel decoder. Simulation results show that the proposed iterative method can achieve significant performance gains of 2 dB in various massive MIMO systems, as compared to the non-iterative one and traditional linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) detector.

In this paper, we propose a joint differential pulse position modulation and differential chaos shift key modulation (DPPM-DCSK), where one bit modulates the reference PPM signal by chaotic signal, and the other $m_{c}$ bits are mapped by the position index of this chaotic pulse in the information signal. In particular, in the DPPM-DCSK, the information-carrying PPM signal for the current symbol also serves as the reference for the next symbol. It can avoid the energy and rate wastes in the conventional PPM-DCSK. Moreover, we redesign the differential Walsh codes (WC) for DPPM-DCSK to enable multi-user communications. The numerical bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the proposed DPPM-DCSK-WC over multipath Rayleigh fading channels are derived and then verified by simulations. The results demonstrate that the DPPM-DCSK-WC can achieve performance gains of more than 2 dB over the conventional PPM-DCSK and DDCSK-WC for multi-user scenarios, and this gain can be up to 5 dB in the high-delay channels at a BER of ${{10}^{-4}}$. In addition, the superior performance of the proposed scheme is proved over ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless channels, which indicates its great potential for chaotic-based wireless applications. IEEE
